I would estimate that 5.6 could be out in a week or so. And it will be big again on fixes and plus patch features :) !

Excellent  ... do I take this as you having removed the whole biblio bonus shopping exploit?
Good thing if you have ... makes spending of points more critical in character development.

Hmmm, 5 isn't that much and there isn't much to find there anyway...
My point is that being the (probable) first mission, not many characters would have hacking at this level, especially with a certain text being out of stock ;) ... therefore most players would miss the opportunity to read whatever querky addition you have hidden in the harddrive since a return visit is blocked.

Just wondering, I am playing with the alternative patch and had the option of having Blunt Fangs ... this has been most enjoyable and forces me to feed more often ... I am forever hungry:mischief: which creates more chance of breaking the Masquarade and/or being chased by cops or having a <gulp> dreaded Frenzy episode.

Any reason you have deleted this from the history options?
I'm a Malk and assume the history is not available to the other clans as well.

Cheers :D

I have really enjoyed the patches, but have noticed a few issues that never occured when using just vanilla (1.2). I had been using 4.5 (basic), but just upgraded to 5.5 (plus).

1. I get the email from Bertram Tung, but, when I go to visit him, he doesn't give me the quest to find the CD. This also happened with 4.5, but I never had that problem with vanilla.

2. Freezing in place. At unpredictable times in the game (about 2 or 3 in each play through), my character just can't move. I can still access menus, attack and use disciplines...but am stuck in one spot. Then I have to go back to an earlier save to fix the problem. This has only happened to me with 5.5.

3. Whacked out haven. I just visited my haven after finishing the Giovanni Mansion and the computer desk has turned into a stack of unmovable chairs that blocks the computer. I tried leaving the haven and coming back (to see if it would reload properly) as well as using an earlier save, but it didn't help. Other times, chairs have even sunk down into the floor. Also, even before the furniture problem, sometimes no computer icon would appear when I returned to my haven to check email. Only since I added 5.5.

4. Gangbang in front of the Asylum. Every NPC near the Asylum (except the cop, prostitute and bums) is just standing around in front of the Asylum...nobody moves or goes into the alley anymore. Was this intentional, to get players to "use" the prostitute for blood?

5. I can never finish the poster quests for Gary. The first one always works, the second never does. The tape just sits in my mailbox for eternity. This is not a new 5.5 problem, but it still happens.

Have you continued a 4.5 basic saved game after updating to 5.5 plus? Because this could have been the reason for most of your issues...

I looked at the difficulty of all the SM computers and you have a point. The beachhouse computer is too hard compared to all others without a given password. I lowered it to the difficulty of 3 which is more common to SM...

I didn't delete this history but made it Tremere only because I swapped the histories around a bit so that each clan gets 7 histories and not some many more than others like it was in the unfinished history version.

No, new game.

The messed up haven is the only one that really bugs me, because it appears that my computer is now off limits for the rest of the game.

I save a lot, so the freezing has never been more than a minor annoyance.

I had some strange problems like all door knobs turning into fish - it turned out Steam was trying to un-patch my game. So if you're on Steam, that might be it. Re-install the game through Steam, then disable Steam's auto-updater for VtM:B, and then install Wesp's patch.

Edit: Though I don't know if that will clear up your saved game - I started a new game after re-installing.

I don't use Steam for anything...don't even have it.

I went on with the game and finished the next quest. Went back to my haven and everything was fine. Hopefully just a glitch.

Also, the NPCs around Asylum were back to moving around.

I wonder, could low memory (cache) cause problems like this? I noticed that before some of the bugs I mentioned, my game became unusually laggy.

Regarding the mad interieur designer run amok in your Haven... that one's got nothing to do with the unofficial patch. Already had that problem once in vanilla... only thing that fixed it for me was going back to a way earlier save. As far as I can glimpse, it's a very rare bug... to my knowledge, the actual cause is still one of the mysteries of the WoD. ;)

The question remains, though - Does insight remove sanity, or will insight be given to the mad?"

Ok, cool. I never had it happen before, so thought it was related to the patch.

Sorry, Wesp.
