Witch defence is higher?

Hey all,

I has a question:
Witch offers more protection? Max toughness + Archons Battlearmor or Max physical shield?

For example:
Lets say your health and mana are equal. (not equal level, but equal in length)
And you have physical shield on and you get hit. Your mana drops with 3 cm.
Will this same attack by the same NPC make my health drop 3 cm? (Max Toughness and archons battlearmor)

odd question isnt it?
