Hi! Its me again. Im having a hard time understanding the difference between (for example) a FIGHTER -> KNIGHT and a FIGHTER -> MARAUDER. I mean, whats up with the "receive bonuses from (this and that)"... I really don't understand, see, and feel the difference between the two classes.
Does the MARUADER be a better "repair man" than a KNIGHT since it recieves bonuses from repair skills?
Or a SHUGENJA or BUDOKA.. Will SHU, with bonuses from arcane and nether magic, with 5 points in arcane and nether school of magic stat, be a better magic caster than a BUDO with 10 points in each mentioned school of magic stat?
The "learning bonuses" what do they really do?? A quick reply would be highly appreciated.. thx..
Class Strengths?
The requirements for a class does not make it stronger. The learning bonuses do. Requirements mean it takes longer to get that class. Learning bonuses reduce the xp required to level the skill.
Marauder does have repair but the big difference is Marauder has dual wield. Another big difference is that Knight leads to lord and Marauder leads to death knight (or whatever its called)
Shukenja is a better caster because it comes from mage which adds another learning bonus. Budoka comes from thief. In general the only advantage of thief in combat is that you save xp on trap disarming which means you can devote xp to either melee or magic depending on your other classes. Thief is worse at melee than fighter. It doesn't have any magic. Backstab is terrible skill. I guess you get more gold but the economy is broken anyway.
Another aproach to traps is to boost your strength early on and then bash all of them. I just boosted the trap skill however. Because you can always farm xp.

Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.
so learning bonuses is a way to get things cheap
So what basically your saying is, a SHUGENJA can learn arcane and nether schools faster than a BUDOKA because it has learning bonuses to those meaning its much cheaper to upgrade it? Right? Other than that, the damage is still based on how much skill points you put on that skill.. Right?

Yeah look at what learning bonus comes along. Include the first tier class and the third also along with the second. I was saying shukenja probably has more magic learning bonuses because to be a shugenja you start as a mage (arcane) while budoku starts as thief (throwing weapon and locks/traps).
Also look what new skills unlocked: repair, scribe, spellfire and other diabolical skill, dual wield, etc
