It's all improvised with a few talks about directions. We write what we feel, we are 'real' artists!

If you are thinking of plagiarizing our story for publication, I'm afraid you might run into trouble with the lawyers for the Estate of Frank Baum, the lawyers for the Estate of Lewis Carroll, and Michael Eisner.
:p :p :D :D
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

Just curious: Has any of us ever considered writing a battle scene where the Dark Flames lose? Sword spiders hitting through stoneskin, wing buffets knocking everyone for a loop, clerics run out of heal spells, opposing druids cast Nature's Beauty and everyone goes blind? What would be the implications of the Dark Flames having to limp away in disgrace? How would the characters feel about that?

@Gwally - you going to kill us off? :D

Well I'm not proud, considering I tend to find myself in various states of embarrassment anyway :D As long as I have a handsome rescuer.

I don't have anything specific in mind. I'm just interested in the fact that we always end up winning. Or do we? Often, a story arc is started with a failure, such as someone being captured, and the others encounter many hardships along the way. Ultimately, we win, but that may all be a part of the Good vs. Evil mythos. Good always wins, or else it wouldn't be good, would it? [History is written by the victors - that sort of thing.] So maybe its not so bad that we always win in the end. We certainly experience loss along the way. Furthermore, sometimes having Georgi's character start lopping off heads right-and-left may not be so much a commentary on how powerful the Dark Flames are, but on how uninterested we are in writing detailed fight scenes. We would rather get back to the pathos and absurdity as fast as possible.... I'm just speaking for myself, here. No reflection on all you other great authors. I also seem to be playing my own devil's advocate as well as rambling.... Maybe I'm bored. Sorry....

So I see by these comments, Darkpoet was never with the Darkflames. He must of been a figment of someones imagination.

On that note, Darkpoet is now dead. He never recovered from his wounds, after the fight with Teshana.

Give me a bit and I'll edit that Darkpoet is dead.

If you read my next post, Mr. Dramatic, you will see that I am mostly musing on my own writings, and wishing to set up a philosophical discussion on the nature of the Good-Evil mythos. I also state that my thoughts have no bearings on anyone else's writings and are not meant as commentary. Instead of taking personal offence, you could have pointed out where you have actually written a losing battle, and we could have had a good discussion. Please know that you don't have to take everything as a personal affront.
