Shadow Thieves' Guild (may contain spoilers)

Post by rahmen »

Hi,

I have been playing BG2 for 5 years and I have finished it twice,
but I was wondering if you can wait with helping the Shadow Thieves' Guild until chapter 6?
I have always tried to do all the quests before I head to Spellhold but I thought that I was going to do something different this time around

I have tried to find the answer on the forums to no avail, would appreciate some help

Thx,
rahmen

If you mean doing the Thief stronghold quest, yes that can wait until Chapter 6.

If you meant doing the tasks for Aran Linvail, then no, you must do them in chapter three.

If you want to do something different, and never done so yet, try siding with the other contact.

The quest to kill Mae´Var and all that stuff, I have tried siding with Bodhi but I find it to be too evil for my taste, I always play good characters
My current character, the blade, is chaotic neutral, so maybe it could work this time around

Thank you, Crenshinibon

If you're going to side with Bohdi you have to do the thieves stronghold before joining her, if you can join her after getting the stronghold that is. Not sure on that, but for sure once you've joined her the Mae'Var quest will never become available.

Doing all the quests the good way everytime I play is getting kind of tiresome, but on the other hand, im going to miss out on the +3 short sword and some cash but i think I will manage
Siding with Bodhi is a lot harder than vice versa in my opinion

If you have ToB installed, you are able to find a few +4 weapons quite easily. One of the best SHortswords in the game is practically handed to you in a store.

I agree, it's been a long time since I went that route, and only did it once, but I remember it being a lot tougher.
