Bards armour

Can anybody tell me what kind of armour can bards wear in IWD1 and still cast spells?

The robes have usable only by mages restriction, and i dont see any leather or chain for bards either...
Will my bard be naked for the whole game if i want to cast spells?

Bards can only wear elven chain.
In chapter 3 there are two locations where you have about a 1/3 chance to get one as random loot, so the chance to get at least one is only slightly higher than 50 percent. They don't have "elven chain" in their name, but when you find an armor which grants a bonus to cold resistance there you can be sure it is one of them.

In my game I wasn't lucky, so the bard's armor slot stayed empty. But that's not too bad, I just had her use "shield" spells.

Yes, Elven Chainmail allows casting spells with armor. There are three chances to get it during the game, although you may end up empty as kmonster did.

Oops, didn't remember that one of them had "elven" in its discription.

You can find the description of the other one described as "Chainmail Armor (Kaylessa's Armor)" at Gamebanshee's IWD section.
I'm pretty sure those two are the only ones you can get in an unmodded game, what's the third one ?

My mistake. There are two chances instead of three. I just double checked my walkthru.
