Mysterious Charisma Drop

Post by balboaj »

Somthing bizarre just happend in my shadows of amn game. My charisma, which was 16, has dropped to 5. I'm not cursed or anything; it's just 5 now. When I noticed it, it really pissed me off. Incidentally, although it doesn't affect my game too much, Nalia's charisma has dropped to 1. Does anybody know what's going on here, because I never heard of this bug before, and I have all the latest patches.

Yes, I have. And I just now read the description of it with the 20% chance of a charisma drop. Guess I should start reading more than the stats of new items I get. I'm going to load up an old game and sell the stupid rod. Thanks for the help.

It might be worth searching the forum for the way to exploit the rod of terror, there's a glitch you could take advantage of if you want. to continue with the same party. Alternatively you could use Shadow Keeper to restore your charisma.

it is more fun getting 25 CHA by going 'round the block' shall we say!

lots of items make it possible and I admit that I have used it on low CHA characters to give them the extra ring-slot back. in RPG terms, limiting the character to 2 rings is unjustified, so using an exploit to get CHA to a level that the ring would give seems fair enough.

I'd rather be able to get 25 DEX really...
