Windows updates causing problems

Post by wise grimwald »

Once again a windows update has caused both Baldur's Gate and Tutu to stop functioning.
In the past I have had to do a re-install, but I am wondering if there is some other answer as I am not sure what other mods I have installed.
It won't even let me re-install the english patch!

I've found the answer to my own problem. All I need to do is re-install the Direct X Drivers from my Neverwinter Nights game, and everything works again. No need for a full install. :)
Thought I'd let you know in case somebody else gets the same problem.

ok thanks for the info, son :)
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.

I found I have no real problems, except in Vista (which might IMO as well be named Virus), does cause a few bugs. The butterflies and various other things show in a square of black, and there are some NPCs (Hull most notably until now) that I cannot speak to. I have an old pc with XP on it still, I am sorely tempted to use that for BG and this Vista crap for Medieval TW II.
