Bugged Quest?

I was trying to do the Kangaxx the Lich quest and was down to just killing Kangaxx. He was in his last form I was hitting him with Flail of Ages, Carsomyr, celestial fury, Tansherons Bow and some summoned creatures. He got to badly wounded. After that My party stopped taking damage and so did he. I left the computer and 20 minutes later my group is still pounding on him aside from creatures being unsummoned. Is there a fix for this?

If you're running the latest patch, try reloading and fighting him again.

First point, only +4 or better weapons can hit Kangax in his Demi-Lich form, so only Carsomyr of those you mentioned have any effect.

Second point. This encounter is buggy, patch or no patch. If for some reason Kangax can't converse with you at certain points, he can never be killed, bad scripting. So if you had a silence 15' Radius going the wrong time, tough luck. If everyone was under a Prot4ection from Undead Scroll at the wrong time, ditto. This isn't consistent, but I've lost count of the times I've had to re-load a save and have another go. This, and some other encounters, are extremely poorly scripted, so always make a separate save before starting any major encounter.

Only weapon you can damage him with those mentioned is the Carsomyr like Galraen said, so probably the reason why it seemed like you werent damaging him was cause Kangaxx has 90 melee resistance in Demi form and regenerates 1hp every 1,5 seconds.

And he just spams imprisonment so he doesnt really have any damage output, even if he would decide to go in melee he wouldnt be able to hit anything, and if he wasnt doing anything at all then your party was protected by the undead protection scrolls most likely.
