How can I view my proficiencies?

I'm just starting the game, and I've found a few knives and a few clubs (and a crowbar!). I'd just like to view my proficiencies to make sure I'll be hitting stuff when I use these things.

You can view your proficiencies by clicking "R" and viewing you information there. They will appear as little pluses.

Only fighters may become proficient with weapons. Also, you need to talk to certain NPCs to allocate your points.

I'm about 5 minutes into the game, so I'm only interested in my initial points right now.
