Dead Hand of the Past Quest

I'm told to go back to the country Inn and see Declan Leuvaarden again. But when I enter the Inn, a cut scene starts up and Shani is surrounded by five troublemakers. I killed the troublemakers and after that was finished, I got the key off Olaf’s corpse. But now the Inn is completely empty except Shani. How or where can I find Declan Leuvaarden so I can get on with the quest "Dead Hand of the Past"? I have to talk to him so I can continue in the Cave.

The events with the trouble makers are scripted to occur when you pass the challenges of the three people: odo, the guard, the crook by the river. So you have to finish that up (your quest with L) before finishing off those three.

You might get a chance to talk to him again later in the game I don't know, but I think the best way is to hold off on dealing with odo.

I'm not sure which of those three challenges I did last. I guess I have to go back to my "saves" far enough, that I can still go to the Inn and the cut scene does not happen and Declan Leuvaarden will be there then?? Right?

I'm pretty sure you can complete this quest in the next chapter. You'll see Leuvaarden all throughout the campaign.

Thanks for the information. I followed Claudius suggestion and found a saved file before the 3rd challenge was done. Everything went just fine and the quest is now completed. So, I'm a happy camper.

Now I'll go back and finish that third challenge. It was the one for the Downer brains.
