I was thinking about playing the default Characters all the way through the series which I've never done. I basically want to follow the built in story lines with the NPC's as closely as possible, even the ones who aren't in the default group but apear in SOA. SO I 'll let Kivan help me kill bandits on the way to Nashkal, save Viconia from death but won't let her join and at least talk to Edwin, Faldorn, Tiax and Quale. The only thing is that the default characters classes don't always seem to fit there personalities so I want teek them with shadow keeper. I would obviously be playing TUTU. My biggest question is what to do with Kahlid since I really cannot see him as a true front liner personality wise. My PC is going to be a Cleric/Ranger since the only thing that the default team really lacks is a Cleric. So here is what I am thinking.
BGI
Cleric/Ranger
Imoen-Dualed Theif/Mage
Jahiera-Same But with SOA stats
Minsc-Barbarian
Dynahier-Sorcerer
Kahlid-? I gues he could be a Fi/Ma or an Archer any Ideas?
BGII
Cleric/Ranger
Imoen/Jan as a fill in
Jahiera/Romance
Minsc/Barbarian
The Sorcerer Character that can be added as a MOD
Last spot for NPC's relating to quests.
TOB
Same as BGII except I would fill the last spot with a certain somebody
Any thoughts or suggestions would be great. A different PC or what to do with Kahlid or even any of the other Characters. I am pretty open with Kahlid and Dynahier as the won't be with me for the entire ride.
Tweaked Default Team Through The Series?

Are you being sarcastic? I am changing Minsc to a Barbarian and Dynahier to a Sorcerer because I think it makes more sense for them than the Ranger/Invoker. I am still trying to figure out what to do with Kahlid although I'm leaning toward leaving him as is and just using him as an archer.Curry wrote:Minsc is a ranger, not barbarian![]()

The irony of Khalid is that despite his personality, he does make a very good frontliner.
You're free to make all the changes you wish, as they only need to make sense to you. Just FYI, the default party works quite nicely with just about any PC, but a Cleric/Ranger multiclass is a perfect fit.

I am really leaning toward just keeping Kahlid as a Fighter and then using him as an archer and backline protection for Imoen and Dynahier. I may adjust his *'s but only within the rules. I'm thinking this party will be pretty overpowered in BGI, at least I'll have to go a while with no thief and for parts with just a small selection of Sorcerer spells.
