BG1 on Virtual PC 2007 (Win98), problem with scrolling

Post by Astafas »

Hi folks,

I recently decided I wanted (or rather needed) to go back to BG1. It was easier said then done though - I couldn't even install BG1 on my XPSP2 machine. After endless hours on the net, I installed Windows Virtual PC 2007 together with Win98. So far so good. And the game installed fine as well (original 5 CD edition with TotSC on top). The problem:

My game won't scroll down or to the right when I move my cursor to those ends of the screen. Up or left works fine.

I've tried several different resolutions for the Win98 screen, amongst other the one used by BG1. This doesn't solve the problem. I can't believe I'm stuck at this after so much efforts. Please help me!

Managed to install under XP after all. Install Shield was the problem. Would still be interested in the answer though, if anyone got it.

Not entirely an answer, but a workaround, if you still need it: Play BG1 via Tutu, with the BGII engine?
