The Coccacidium

Post by ve6tp »

Do you have to have the Coccacidium shown in your Beasties in order to fight and kill it? Do I have to read a book or scroll to be able to fight it and who would I see to get it?? I'm in Chapter II.

Also, is it something that is required in a quest? If so who gives the quest.

Thanks.

The coccacidium is one of the two trophy monsters in chapter 2. You'll get a quest for it when you kill it. You don't need to read a book or anything to kill it. You'll find it randomly in the swamp forest.

Thank you swcarter:

One of the potions recommended to use during this fight is Golden Oriole. As yet, I have never come across this potion. Checking my list of formulas, it is not there either.

Could you tell me please, where I can obtain the book or scroll so that the formula and the ability to make this potion, can be found or purchased? Is a bottle of the potion available to be picked up in the Swamp??

Thanks again.

Sorry, I don't remember, but I'd suggest touring the local shopkeepers, like the antiquary in the Temple Quarter and Vaska in the swamp forest. If you can't find the recipe, you can always "cheat" and look up the ingredients and make the potion from scratch.

the walkthrough makes this comment:

18 - Thaler’s House

Thaler is a fence -- of information as well as goods -- and so he’ll pop up in a few quests, including Memory of a Blade, Berengar’s Secret, Suspects, and A Game of Dice. Thaler is also available for most activities. You can shop with him (and buy, among other things, The Book of the Golden Oriole ;) and a Sun Rune), you can drink with him..

Thanks to everyone who responded to this posting.

Vaska didn't have the potion.

I had tried to make the potion earlier, using the formula, but couldn't make it. The reason I couldn't make it was because I was not aware you had to start off by inserting the alcohol in center first and then you can add the other ingrediances. So I followed whitetail directions and created and used the potion. Worked just fine and is now in the formula log.

Many thanks whitetail.

Regards to all and thanks again.
