I've been playing BG with the info screen telling me all the to-hit rolls and damage and so forth, and I'm noticing that my fighter always has a +0 to his rolls. He's using a +2 (or +1... I forget) bastard sword which claims that it has a bonus on the THAC0. So shouldn't his rolls read something like this: 15 + 2 = 17? Instead, it's reading: 15 + 0 = 15
Are his to-hit bonuses not being included? This question would also apply to things such as the Bracers of Archery, which should be adding a THAC0 bonus... but evidently aren't.
Does BG1 Add In THAC0 Bonuses?

I have that option turned on, and that's where I'm getting the "+0" numbers. That's what alerted me to the issue. I've never paid any attention in the past, just assuming that the characters were getting their various bonuses added in. If Imoen, for example, is using the Bracers of Archery, a +1 shortbow, and +1 arrows, then her to-hit rolls should have a +3 or +4 (I can't remember what the bracers add). But they're coming up at +0 in the info window.

You can see the to hit rolls apply at the very botton of the character sheet, if memory serves. Did you try comparing by using a normal shortbow and normal arrows?

It occurs to me that this might be an odd by-product of installing a mod. I made the mistake of installing some mod a while back, and I don't even know which one it was anymore.
The mod added a bunch of Duerger in the Nashkel Mines, a strange encounter that is WAY overpowered for a low-level party. The Duergers dropped all kinds of overpowered equipment (once I'd cheated the party to victory), and XP was ridiculous.
It's possible that another side-effect of that mod was to disable bonus rolls on equipment. That's merely speculation, but it's the only solution that I can come up with. The info window consistently shows +0 modifiers on to-hit rolls--sometimes even negative numbers. There's no point in using nice equipment if it won't work. Kinda wrecks gameplay.
