Re-installing

Post by sort-vampyr »

I've had it with all bugs, I wanna re-install to see if it helps, but can I keep my saved games/chars ? And how?
Did I just roll 1 on a save vs. death? DANG! *>.<

What are the bugs? Some may be fixable and some may not be. A reinstall is a last resort.

I believe the game automaticly remembers your savegames, even when reinstalled. Atleast, that's how it is with me.

When you uninstall, the game asks if you want to keep your save games.

Not with me, they automaticly save. Maybe it's because I have the Collectors edition?

Ok, for those of you that are still following this thread I wanna point out the fact that I'm a moron and posted this thread before checking if others like this had been made. After posting and not getting a quick answer I went searching for threads that would answer my question and found that your chars are saved in several different folders ( Thats what the dude in the thread said ) so i whent looking in my folders and found one of these folders where your chars are saved ( :C/documents/my games/oblivion/saves ) and made a back-up before re-installing the game, it wasn't necessary though since I afterwards found out that the chars hadn't been deleted when I un-installed. And I wanna point out the fact that I wasn't asked wether or not I wanted to keep my chars at any point in the un-install process.

Off topic: It just hit me again that Gamebanshee is totally awesome and I love you guyes for all the help I've gotten through the roughly two years it's been since joining... What the heck, I've just had an exelent day and wanted to spread some love xD *BIG-FAT-RPG-MUNCHKIN-HUG*
