Donating to the Light - quest help

I have a question for anyone that has done this quest. I recently completed it, paid the 500 gold for the guy to say "come back and donate enough gold to get a specal gift". i did that paid the 10,000 and got the weapon.

the problem, is that it says under my quests that i still donate to the light.

Anyone know how to solve this? Thanks

I believe you need to beat the main storyline for it to go away.
Because once I beat it on my other file it was gone.
