Uh... No choice on who to side with?

Post by Pellinore »

I am playing a (very) evil Fighter>Thief and decided to side with Miss B. She turned me down!!! She said "Not good. Not good at all..." I have already made enemies of the Shadow Thieves and didn't worry much about it because I was planning the darker path... Do I have to go back to my last save which was looong ago?

I believe that if you're a thief, you automatically cannot side with Bhodi.

Yeah, you if you are a thief, you can't side with Bodhi. That would mess things up with your stronghold.Currently I am using the Valen mod,it allows one to own a thief stornghold and to work for Bodhi simultanteously.
But how did you manage to make enemies of Shadow Thieves?I believe if they turn hostile towards you in their stronghold in the docks,a person appears who kills you instantly. That is made that way so as not to ruin the main quest line.If npc there are not hostile towards you, then things are just fine, and you can join them.

I... uh... accidentally killed someone in the thievs guild. I was fighting one of those vampire encounters (when Sanuski asks for your help) and realised I was not ready so I ran into the thieves' guild. The vampires followed me :speech: I then thought I was attacking the vampire but accidentally targeted the lady merchant, killing her. The rest of the guild turned hostile when that happened...

I'm notoriously bad for not keeping many saves. My last save (aside from auto saves) was right b4 I attacked the party in the Seven Vales... a long time ago. My auto save is when exiting the thief guild with 3 vampires in tow

Have you tried talking to Gaelan Bayle anyway? Just because the thieves are hostile, doesn't necessarily mean the main guys won't talk to you. You only really need Gaelan and Aran Linvail on your side to complete the level.

That's rather strange.I believe you should be dead already, taking into consideration the fact that you have killed that lady still being in chapter 2.I never thought it is possible.

I thought so too. I know when you fail stealing from Gorch bad, bad people come to punish you. Maybe the presence of the vampires have something to do with it. It looks as if I may have to start over. I got about 20 little Brus too... Freaky like children of the corn. Maybe I have a buggy game. Oh well... start over with Dungeon B Gone!

If you haven't picked a side yet then you can still side with Bodhi (as long as you don't wait too long to show up to see her).

Just use shadow keeper and temporarily change your PC's class from a thief to anything else, then see Bodhi and change your class back to a thief afterwords. I've done that before when soloing a thief, and it worked just fine.
Remember, being Evil in Baldur's Gate 2 is VERY fun...
