After sex in the bordello....

my character has some type of disks over his head and butterflies flying around every time he stops and stands still. What is up with this and how do I get rid of it?

Hello and welcome to the forums, Dieselbuilder. :)

As for your question, it means that your character have reached the top of the alignment. To get rid of the butterflies and the halo, go and sacrifice people at the chapel of Skorm, or go kill some innocent civilians.

Or you can just search for a mod which can remove them.
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price

Not just some. At max goodness you need to kill a LOT of civilians.
Else the butterflies will return in no time.
Go on a rampage trough Albion. And keep an eye on your Alignment meter.

Fast and easy ways to become more evil in the game.

Steal stuff in towns, and be sure to get caught, but then you have to pay fines.

An easier way is to kill the Guards at Lookout Point. They will keep respawning two at a time until you leave the area. You get 10 points of evil for each one you kill, and it increases your combat multiplier. If you return later, everything is back to normal.

I would not suggest trying to kill them in someplace like Oakvale unless you have a lot of power and abilities. And, thereafter even if you become pure as driven snow they will never trust you.
Remember to play the game. Don't let it play you!

I found knothole glade the best place to start a rampage. Not IN the village but in the open space before you enter it. Stockpile will potions and use heal/drain when needed. You'll be pure evil in no time plus tons of xp & gold...after that, just rinse and repeat.
