Okay, I am not far into the game but I am reading a guide to see if I missed anything and to help because I was missing alot (had low strength to start because I thought putting more points into Wisdom/Charisma was a viable option to start). Anyway...
The guide says I should have about 50 computer spikes and repair parts by the time I get to the Sith Base on Taris. I see no way this is possible... is this accurate? Then I thought, maybe I'm not looting everything, but I am particularly anal about making sure I wait to loot everything but most of the time bodies fall and aren't even lootable. Is this normal or should every body be lootable? I find maybe 1/5 bodies are lootable as "remains" and I'll loot them and get the occasional item or two and a medpac. Just want to make sure my copy of the game isn't borked because it feels like maybe I'm not getting everything the guide expects me to have gotten.
Thanks in advance guys!

As what Mr. RandomGuy had mentioned, it is a stretch. The last time I played the game, I doubt I was able to get 50 computer and/or repair parts during and after Taris. I probably recall a lot less than that.
But you can buy them from the vendor who sold you T3, in case you run out of either one.

''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price

Well, you don´t want to bother much with Repair Parts anyway. They fix droids, and that´s it. You never use them for fixing up any plot-critical computer or the like. They´re used for droids, which in turn grants you XP, and not exactly a lot of it. XP can be accumulated in many other ways than that. And usually, the droids you fix are crap.
I never bother with it much. I get Repair to around 10, and then I use items with bonuses to Repair, if I feel a need to.

You´ll need a Repair skill of 17 to completely upgrade HK-47, but items along your adventure can help you get to that without much hazzle. And you don´t need parts for it anyway.
As others have said, 50 repair and computer parts is insane. Plus unless you are makings your character to be a computer/robot nerd you will never need that many HIGHLIGHT SPOILER TO SEE.
In response to the bodies, in my experience the loot is random on generic foot soldiers. On important bodies there is/are permanent pieces of stuff on them, and maybe a bit of random loot. Therefore, if you need it, you'll get it.
If your guide tells you that, My advice is to get a different one. GameBanshee's one is quite good and doesn't tell you rediculous things like that. If you can't already tell, I used it when I need to.

except on the last part of the star forge, but if you blow up some droids you get more

It takes 43 muscles to frown and only 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face
