T'lainya stood slowly. She touched the hilt of her sword and DP noticed she seemed to gain strength from the weapon. She turne and walked across the cabin. "See, as good as new. This one wasn't as bad as others I've taken. Thank you for the healing, I didn't know you were skilled in it."

"That and getting into trouble are the only things I'm good at. Lets get out of here."
T'lainya and Darkpoet left the ship, as soon as they got of the ship. The jungle swallowed up the ship. Chrissy was standing on the hill, with her eyes closed, and left after the ship disappeared.

T'lainya and Darkpoet moved quickly back to the fort. They were surprised to find the way fairly clear of enemies. "This is almost too easy." T'lainya said worriedly. "I think so too." DP answered looking around for anything suspicious. Together they continued on to the entrance to the fort.

Bodies of creatures were all over the place. Some were still twitching, they could see, bodies hang lifeless from the towers. It was quiet, not even a sound from the birds. As they walked closer, the carnage, increased. The both of them walked into the fort, to there surprise. Most of them survived, T'lainya's sister cam running to her.

Lainy's face was pale, and her eyes were wild as she approached her sister. "Where have you been? I felt your injury."
T'lainya looked at Lainy. "Darkpoet and I had a date with a demon. I took a good slash, but DP helped it. We'll tell everyone the story at once. What happened here?"
"We were attacked by spiders and crawlers and ankhegs." Lainy's voice was grim. "Lots of injuries."
Darkpoet bristled at her tone. "We did our share too, the necromancer's dead.

Looking at the carnage, the words anyone had said was like white noise. He was tired, Darkpoet climbed the tower and look out at the ocean. He felt the breeze, he saw the birds were back. He climbed down from the tower, walking past everyone. Taking the trail back to the beach, standing at the shore line. Watching the waves roll in. Taking off his armor, he was tired of the smell. Pulling off what was left of his shirt, he waded out into the water. Darkpoet just wanted to get rid of the smell of death on him. He dove as deep as he could, when he surfaced. Darkpoet swam back to the beach, letting the sun dry him. Laying back listening to the waves and birds. Darkpoet made his dission, he took his axe and threw is as far as he could into the water.

As he enjoyed the sun, Darkpoet was starting to relax. A voice made him jump, a voice he did not want to hear.
"Well cabinboy, you have really proved your worthiness. I lost a bet that you won't last a day."

"Out of all the Gods, why you? What? you pulled the shortest straw?" Darkpoet saw the look in the God's eyes. "Heh, you did pull the shortest straw. Why are you here? To harass me more? I done no more fighting for me."

"Wrong the fight has just begun, Darkpoet. You have proved yourself well, so I give you this."
Darkpoet is handed a sword, it's blade glowed, had a good balance.
"Why are you giving me this?"
"Because you have five more Necromancers to kill. Grendel was one of six, in his order. The Order of Unholy Dead, we want you to hunt them down. Goodluck."

When Darkpoet looked up, the god was gone. Darkpoet sat back down on the sand, trying to fathom, what was said to him.

T’lainya briefed the others on what had happened to her and Darkpoet. Viv, Lainy and Waverly filled her in the events at the fort. After the discussion was over, T’lainya went to look for Darkpoet.
She found him down by the water, staring off towards the horizon. She sat down next to him. They sat in silence for a few minutes, watching the light play over the water.
“Are you ok?” T’lainya broke the silence.

"No, I was paid a visit, by my tormentor. He gave me this and said I have five more necros to kill."
Darkpoet hands T'lainya, his new sword.
"And I was just starting to relax."

T'lainya examined the sword with interest. A faint tingling in her fingers proved what the glowing blade hinted at, the sword was magical.
"Nice pigsticker you got out of it though."
Darkpoet just looked at her.
"Cheer up DP, there's only 5 of them. The way I see it, I was between jobs anyway." She smiled at him, thinking to herself what am I doing?

Darkpoet looked at T'lainya, as if she was crazy, after he heard her say, she was between jobs. He would of just patted the person on the back and said good luck. Just like what was said to him.
"T'lainya, what are you doing? Are you sure you want to do this? I'm not even sure that, I want to do this. I feel like, I just got talked into one of Waverly's schemes. I just know, I'm going to see more spiders. I hate spiders."
Darkpoet shivered at the thought.

T'lainya started laughing."Did you really think I'd let you get into trouble all by yourself? besides , what else am I going to do...stay on this island? I've had all I can take of this island."

"You could leave with your sister. Here, give this to her, I don't want anymore people killed. It's the treasure map, That will make her happy."
Darkpoet hands T'lainya, folded piece of paper.
"You should go for a swim, the water is great. Just watch out for the mermen."

"A swim sounds good. I don't think mermen come in this close to land though." Grinning at DP,T started towards the water. Yelling back "And no peeking!"

Grinning Darkpoet watched T'lainya swim out. Then he stoped grinning, when he saw three fins, moving towards her. Grabbing his sword, Darkpoet swam out to T'lainya, she saw him get closer.
"Hey, I said no peeking."
"Get behind me, sharks!"
Darkpoet waited for the first shark to approach, and slashed at it. The water bubbled forth, killing the shark. They swam away from the dead shark, the other two came at them. This time the sword reacted on it's own, sending out a charge that killed the sharks. Darkpoet treaded water, in shock.

"Thanks DP, nice power that sword has. I wasn't completely helpless though." Smiling T showed DP the long dagger she had in her hand. "It was strapped to my leg." She answered his unspoken question. "I do think 3 of them would've been a little much for one person though."

Darkpoet shook his head, smiling.
"I was thing about sneaking up on you, under water. I'm glad I didn't. You can stay out if you like, I'm going back to shore."
He swam back and laid on the beach.

T'lainya enjoyed the rest of her swim. Then climbed out of the water and dressed. Keeping an eye on DP, who seemed to be asleep. Silently she moved behind him and poured a canteen of cold water on him.

It all happened rather quickly after the death of the creature who had caused so much misery. The island proved to be exactly what Viv and her crew had been searching for. The waterfall of fresh water, the beach front property with beautiful white sand and sparkling blue water and the beautiful palm trees Within days they had the basis for their new home “The Goddess’s Tropical Adventure Resort”, with a Casino run by Gruntboy and his crew, sport activities lead by the followers of Artemis, a health and beauty spa by the followers of Aphrodite and the hotel itself run by the maidens.

Viv walked past the new pool and bar area, picking up a pina colada on her way, glad that they hadn’t thrown the white bikini’s overboard, all that sunbathing would have been killer in normal clothing. She meandered down the stone path down to the beach area, waving at maidens engaged in sand volleyball with Brink, KramoR and Dragonwench, and saw Waverly in the distance with his ‘crew’ of his Yacht tour. She gave him a big smile seeing that he had transformed the ship into a veritable luxury liner, though she did wonder why his crew wore bikini’s even skimpier than the norm.

She heard a conversation off to her right and saw Darkpoet and T’lainya again in deep conversation.

She ran over and gave them both hugs, being careful not to spill her drink.

“Just wanted to thank you again for taking care of that nasty man. With him gone, well, what we’ve always wanted is at hand!! A bit of rest and relaxation, and who knows, maybe Waverly’s Yacht will bring in some tourists? Though, if evil should ever rear its ugly head again… But, enough of that talk! Waiter! Drinks for my friends, they look to need a day of rest at least!”

And with that Viv the Red lifted her drink and toasted her friends, as their glasses clicked rays of the setting sun shot through in swirling oranges and reds, almost in premonition…
