SPOILERS AHEAD
Hey all. I was curious what you all thought of the first part of SoZ from when you shipwreck until you finish the main quest chain and head to the Sword Coast.
For me the main quest chain was pretty quick and easy. My main question is are you supposed to finish all the sidequests now or do we come back later? Many of the sidequests I found very challenging like the Ruined Temple where Volo wanted you to go and Tempest's Fury where the Black Market illithid send you. Do you think we are supposed to complete these quests now or will we have a chance to come back and do them?
I'm having a pretty good time with the game so far. The overland map is pretty cool except all the loading screens back and forth are rather annoying. Also, it can be tough if you aren't near a town and can't find anywhere to rest.
Thanks for any input you have.

Doing the side quests vs. the main quest is entirely up to you. They made the game more non-linear for that 'good' reason IMO, I'd probly end up doing a couple side quests, then a couple main to keep my interest balanced out. I did find out 'some' fights cannot be won. (I'll leave them outta here) I am also enjoying the random, repetitous respawns though makes good practice.wneill wrote:SPOILERS AHEAD

All fights can b won!
who already was declared unbeatable by many players due to his buffs and resistances, then I'm happy to inform that so far I was able to win (sometimes after maaany reloads) all challenges inc. this mini-bass. And if we r talkin' bout the same target, few other people beat him too... He drops random quite powerful magic item, but it's not the rule (one dude get only Amulet of Pure Good). I play far from main quest, trying to do all side-quests available, which is quite difficult most of the time but that's the point, right? Yet, if there is some not known to me creature, who pretend to be unbeatable just let me know where I can find him. Sometimes U have to leave some duel for later on, like it had place in case of . After beating him I reloaded the game to c the other way of dealing with him...

I'll have to try 'em again (usin my tactic) if I decide to rebuild my party then. I'm sure I'll have better drops long after him though. So jus for Xp / tactical improvement I guess. First try though, he slaughtered the party like flies. bam, bam n bam.. reload.

Bad ass
I know EXACTLY what U mean First approach ended after around one min. and left me like I was returning to him many times during the game to check if I'm good enough already or nit yet :mischief: Now after dealing with personal insult I reloaded the game and I'm giving him what he's asking for.So far it looks like that (SPOILER) :

After sacrificing two or thee cohorts the character deciding who should b sacrificed (must b evil alignment) get Lower Negative Aura feat: +1 INT and +1 (I think) STR
After sacrificing six (or seven, I'm not sure) cohorts I get Negative Aura: +1 to STR, DEX, CON & INT
The best thing is that One of Many is still hungry and asking for more, but I prefer to keep at least one extra cohort just in case I will need a thief... Well, I really hope that the final bonus will b worth it... Good thing is that I get XP for each sacrificed cohort, amount depends probably on victim's level. The lowest I get 1000 the highest 2500...

I never been big on sacrificing cohorts (you dunno when you'll need 'em & don't wanna end up short) But that Aura bonus sounded tempting. However, that's 1 reason why I got my thief multiclassing w/ Blackgaurd - so I don't "have to" make that decision.
I recently re-fab'D my party some, so I'm jus waiting to run 'em through (this one seems tougher than 1 I got now) And.. it's already my 5th remake
