Where is the royal huntsman who wants the first trophy?,Can I drop contracts etc after reading them ? I'm sure I'll have a few more as time goes on so thanks for any replys ..

That map will show you where the royal huntsman is (number 7). And yes, once you read the contract and got the quest, the item itself is useless. You can safely drop it (or store it at an inn if you like to keep additional tracks of what you did). Same goes for any book you've already read, you don't need it anymore.

Thanks GuiOhm,It looks like that was in the outskirts so I guess I'm screwed, as I'm now in the temple district. Oh well maybe I can sell it later..

No, you won't be able to sell it later.

Head of the Cockatrice that you killed at the begining of the Chapter, and an Echinops-like creature (on steroids) are the trophies for Chapter 2. Talk to the captain of the Guard (vincent) in DAYTIME only.

As for the Actual contracts, well, the poster takes them from me, so they MAY be needed. I never had a problem with it, so....

I'm not sure about "etc" but you can drop contracts after reading them. They're not needed for completing the quests.
