Help with worg quest (mild spoiler)

I'm on the sword coast, and I've explored every inch of it with a ranger and a rogue, and finished every side quest except for the Sensate quest and the Worg quest (non essentials) and I'm being sent away.

My problem:

I get clues as to where to complete the worg quest from both my druid and ranger characters (using track and survival), but the quest doesn't update or display a destination, and i've trekked the map a couple times now with no idea where I go next...

little help?

The cave is located ...

just northeast of Crossroad Keep, in the woods near the western edge, and just south of the escarpment.
