Game freeze - SPOILER

Post by Fearless »

There are two sites that every time I try to travel to, the game freezes. They are a fort ruin situated on the "W" in the word Weald, almost on the southern border wth Elsweyr, and the other is an Elven Ruin slightly to the North East and below the letter "R" in the word Road, These sites are shown on the map, and indeed they begin to show up on my compass. Is this just my machine or has anyone else suffered the same problem

What do you mean by sites? You mean locations [Ruins, Caves, Etc.] ?

Is this the PC or xbox version? ... or PS3 version?

Do You Have A Companion?

Howdy, Fearless!

Sometimes I have a problem with Fast Travel too, if I have a companion NPC trying to go along with my character. The companion causes a lag in frame rate than can lead to a freeze up and maybe a crash! :(

This may happen if somebody is chasing you. Also you aren't supposed to be able to Fast Travel in combat, but sometimes if you start to Fast Travel, just as combat that you aren't aware of is just about to begin, the freeze up can happen because the software can't adjust fast enough or decide which option to go with fast enough. :(

But those issues aside, are you certain that you've actually "discovered" those two locations? Getting close enough to see them won't place them on the map if the pop-message telling you that you discovered the location didn't pop-up. Sometimes I've had to try again, simply by stepping closer and close until the message eventually appears.

Also, I've had quests that conflict with each other that cause Fast Travel problems.

Anyway, if you are using a PC, if you want, you can and may open up the Console Command Window by using the ~ key. With it, you can set your map display with "0" or "1". The former will remove every location, including the known locations that you had at the start of the game. The latter will show every place there is to go to has having been found. Then you can Fast Travel to it, even if you haven't been there yet! You could activate that option as just a quick fix for the 2 locations that you mention, I suppose.

If that doesn't work, then I don't know what else to offer.
Shhh! Be very quiet! I may be sleep writing and sleep reading!
