Download Toolset location

Post by PRGFool »

I am embarassed that I cannot find this. I have googled it and all of the links do not point to the location, I have been to Atari and registered and searched with no luck and I have been to the bioware site and get spun around in circular reference on web pages. So if you can help me out here, I would surely appreciate it. Merry Christmas, everyone!

I don't know if that is possible without having the game, and if you have the game you should be able to just click the "Toolset" button in thw NwN2 Launcher.

Some people (including me) are getting an "error" message when trying to bring up the Toolset. I've seen a forum talking about it, but I forget where. When 'trying' to open it, it comes up as...

"Neverwinter Nights 2 Toolset has stopped working, Windows will notify you when a solution has been found."

If I do find the thread about it, I'll post it, but kinda hoping the next patch will resolve it.

EDIT: here's the thread discussing the toolset problem.
''White light beams through darkness, beset by immense haze over a few seconds followed by a loud cacophony. Motionless, the repercussion of your action strikes your feebled mind and senses. Still dazed, the intensity lingers that follows after tripping over your own sonic blind trap.''

Ok, didn't know about that. Sadly, I haven't bought Zehir yet. But I think that before NwN2 came out you could download the toolset from the website, but that is all I can contribute with.

have the game and their were links to download from somewhere

Thanks for your responses.
I have the game but don't know how to get the toolset from the disk or from the starting game menu. do I have to go the nwn2 directory and start it from there?

Also during my web adventures to find this, I found a page that had links to five sites. When I selected them, they were all bad links or had moved etc etc.

I will start messing around with the CD and see if I can't find it. It might be that the toolset was removed from being able to be downloaded.

In the discussion I posted, they mention 'try' installing the Updated DirectX (unless) you have it already. Then reinstalling.. but that's just more work in itself  Besides, you don't necessarily "need" the Toolset unless you've finished the game & are looking to make your own senarios. Though, they say you may beable to get it from the disc OR the Microsoft updates site.

Again, like I said it's just more work so I don't even bother. Besides I don't really make my own games anyway.
