What is your best gaming moment on Oblivion? *spoiler*
Not so much best as puzzling, and for more than a moment.
I've palyed this game to death and beyond, but the only places I'd seen Impy Legionaires was patrolling the roads or in Kvatch, unless they were pursuing miscreants.
However yesterday I was fooling around in Hackdirt, I was doing the Weatherly quest and instead of just killing the Ogres as per usual I lead them back to Hackdirt to see what would happen. Mayhem ensued, and after I went on to lead my unwitting hit-ogres through all the houses and the caverns there was just one survivor. I'd just rewarded the ogre winner of the Hackdirt Knockdown contest (with an axe between his ears) when I noticed an Impy Legion Horse standing by the well. Curious I wandered over and an Impy walked round the corner, mounted the horse and rode of towards the south west! I was even more curious by now so followed him in sneak mode to see where he was going. Well eventually he ended up on the road between Skingrad and Kvatch, near Miscarcand, but he would never have made it without my assistance. The first thing he did was attack Bralsa Andaren, the master destruction trainer (who I've made an essential character), which went on, and on, until a ghost from the nearby fort distracted the Impy, after dispatching which the Impy forgot all about Bralsa (and vice versa) and we went on our way. The rest of the journey was a non stop killing spree, we even took out the West Weald quest bears between us, we eventually had to part company as I had to rest to level up, twice!
Very strange but rewarding experience, has anyone else evr encountered Legionaries or guards mile from the beaten track before?

On occasion. I think sometimes the path nodes they are set to follow aren't working like they are supposed to. Then they take a shortcut. I've found horsemen swimming across lake Rumare.

Best gaming moment was after I obtained the Sanguine Rose. When I got bored od doing missions and just wanted to have fun it was only natural that I combine it with 100+% chameleon Elven Armor and conjure Dremoric terror among the meek peoples of Tamriel comletely unseen by guards or anyone for that matter.:mischief:

My best experience...
My brother and I had gotten into a contest of, after killing, how the body lands. His usually flew pretty far, farther than mine did. But I did two that have topped anything he can do.
1. The Draconis mother in the DB quest at Applewatch. She was splayed across her bed, her legs and arms spread, and I took all her stuff. My brother stared and said "Dammit! Beat me!"
2. My best ever... I was fighting a bunch of goblins in a mine, Sharp Tooth and White Skin tribes. I went into a little room and there was a goblin, so I killed it. I was a vamp (of course) and so I could see everything in there. The goblin's body flew after I hit it, then landed on a box, it's legs out, hands at it's sides. It was leaning against a wall and my brother and I stared. We both went "Holy #&$%!!!!" It looked like the goblin was just sittin there, relaxing!
How's that? ^-^

*Spoiler* Since that horse never dies, you can 'Knock It Out' then store items in him. Then when you go out into castles and what not, if you get encumbered just store some items in your horse, no problem.Invisable Man wrote:mibe personally was when i had just gotten shadowmere and was going for a test drive so i went out to a stable and some random chick mounted on MY shadowmere and tried to ride off i talked to her and she said something about deliveries, so while she was riding i shot her in the face

ive been a master of restoration tons of times and i always like to amass a huge amount of magicka and make my own spells(fortify speed on touch) and with my full magicka i could fortify if 84 pts(i think) for 120 seconds, however i made this spell like 10 times and stored some of my(home made!) kick ass restore magicka potions. so then i cast the spell on a horse 10 times, mount up and ride! you can go so fast that your horse dies! and its hilarious!
you can also do this on yourself and watch your legs go wild!

Yet again my post mysteriously ends up in the wrong thread!

You want to totally slaughter your brother? Look at Oblivion:Useful Spells - UESPWiki:laugh:
My favorite moment is probably compleating the main quest, then compleating the Shivering Isles, then using the construction thingy to unleash the advanced gatekeeper and Jyggalag into tamriel!!!:devil::devil:

A couple of people have previously mentioned this but when you exit the sewers and step out into the world for the first time is a great feeling.
Also finishing the final Daedric Quest was such a relief, the hours I spent scouring the countryside and getting very cross trying to find those damn things.

I actually had a fun moment yesterday in Shivering Isles. I was exploring a dungeon that kept morphing into different dungeons.. At one juncture I came across two different groups of critters fighting one another, which I found really neat because it takes away that feeling of the world revolving around you.. and then the same dungeon turned into some very topsy turvy ruins and the roof caved in on me, which I barely survived. All of that felt pretty immersive.

I found a mod for that segment! "Alternate Ending for Water's Edge" I think it is called. It allows you to "bravely run away" like Brave Sir Robin, albeit under the influence of Hist Sap, rather than do what the original script has you do. You run until you black out and wake up as usual, you know where, with you know whom.Fljotsdale wrote:That Water's Edge thing upset me too. WORST thing in the game, imo (I've not done DB, which I figured is nasty). I shan't do Fighter's Guild all the way through again. And that poor Hist tree the Blackwood guys were abusing, as well.
I hated that Quest.
But the best moments in the game are when you Sneak and shoot/strike to kill with one arrow, or one blow.
Shhh! Be very quiet! I may be sleep writing and sleep reading!

Well, did you at least take advantage of that moment, by completing the "Bear Season" quest while you where there? I've found that even if you kill them in advance, that you still get credit for it, when you talk to Thorley Aethelred afterwards, if you gathered the fangs as you went, and give them to him then and there.galraen wrote:Not so much best as puzzling, and for more than a moment.
