I've played the game a million times, and I'm looking for something a bit different.
I've narrowed my choices down to four:
1)Sword Coast Stratagems II http://www.gibberlings3.net/scs/
2)Improved Anvil http://forums.blackwyrmlair.net/index.php?showforum=99
3)Classic Adventures http://ca.spellholdstudios.net/
4)Tactics http://weidu.org/tactics.html
If anybody here has any experience with any of the above mods, please respond and let me know what you think of them.
Thanks!
and now for something completely different...
and now for something completely different...

I suggest you to start with Tactics if you are not familiar with tactical mods.
SCS II can be too difficult if you crank up all the difficulties. It improves AI very well, but in the meantime makes (enemy) mages immensely powerful, a little imbalancingly in my opinion. Good part is you can install a lot of other mods with it.
Improved Anvil is also another very good tactical mod. It doesn't allow much mods to be installed along but it has its own atmosphere and creates a completely new BG2 experience. But be warned, it's *very* difficult, you must have seen all other posts about it.
I have no idea about Classical adventures but it is a total conversion and i would approach cautiously.
