Just thought this would be a fun topic of conversation.

Soldier/Consular: melee strength, plenty of Jedi mind tricks.
Favorites for battle: Canderous, Bastila, Juhani
Least favorites: Jolee, and any of the ranged attack group (HK-47, etc)

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
I'm trying a Scoundrel/Guardian, and having an awesome time with him.
You get Persuade early on, which rocks and makes Taris a lot easier. You can put all of your level-up stat points into STR, which makes stunning (from Critical Strike) happen a lot more often, without sacrificing Defense because of those Scoundrel levels.
My problem with the class is that, other than Persuasion, I'm not a big fan of their other class skills. I max out Demolitions so that I don't have to worry about mines, but I haven't found a good use for Stealth yet (other than a few extra XP against the Rancor). Security is nice to have 1 point in on Taris, because it means I don't need to stick Carth in the front to open all the doors. Awareness? I don't even know if I need this skill, as I haven't missed a mine yet. I've cross-classed Computer Use, because with a 10 INT I can get it to level 5 at level 7 Scoundrel (I'm going with a 7/13 split), and boost it to level 6 as a Guardian for the 1 less spike rule.
Since Guardians only get 1 SP/level, and I want a max persuade, I don't think CC'ing skills is worth it.
Anyway, onto my NPCs. I like Bastila, but she doesn't offer much in skills. This is the problem I'm finding with my Jedi NPCs. I thought they'd rock, and they do in battle. But the skills are killing me.
I was thinking of actually using T3-M4 for his Security, Repair and Computer Use skills. But he's not much fun at all in combat. I guess Zalbaar could cover my Computers and Repair deficits, and he's fun since I can get him pretty early on.
I'm not sure. If I go with a skill-NPC, I might drop Bastila and go with Jolee. He's funny, and he's got Force Powers coming out of his rear end. Zalbaar rocks in combat, but I use a lot of Cure powers after just about every combat.

Yeah, bioware didn't implement a good stealth system into the game. I think most people have beaten the game without finding a use for it. However, I do use stealth a couple times in the game just to surround mines around a group of 6 or so enemies in a room that might be a challenge.
I like scoundrel/guardian too.

I've played as a scout/counselor. I don't keep track of what skills/powers come up. I'm not real big into planning that much, probably should pay attention to it.
The game didn't seem to penalize this.
I liked Juhanni just to see her jump into battle, and Bastilla was good to have for her battle meditation. I mostly use Mission and T3 to avoid mines and unlock stuff. I don't worry about the fights, most NPCs hold their own.

Good: Scout/Sentinel
Good skills and Feats. Ditto with immunities. I get Demolition, Persuade and Security up as far as I can get it. Awareness can be raised with many items, so I don´t bother much with that. The rest is irrelevant. Hell, pretty much all skills in the game are irrelevant, except Persuade. It´s simply for the convenience of opening doors, disabling mines etc. without too much fuss.
I use Carth and Bastila (usually) with this one, and if I find a need to raise some of the other skills, I´ll do it with them. Bastila gets some lightsabers and hack away, and Carth gets the best blasters I can find. I give them both items that raise their Dexterity.
Evil: Pretty much the same. Except that I raise Repair a little to get HK-47 fully repaired. Not much though, since a lot of items in the game gives a bonus to Repair, and you´ll eventually be swimming in credits anyway.
My evil party is mainly Canderous and HK-47. I use Canderous as a melee character, and stuff him in the best upgraded armor I can buy from the Yavin Space station, which raises his Strength and so on. Items like that which gives bonuses to Strength go to him. With a couple of good swords I find that he usually deals more melee damage as my Revan-character, if not a lot more. HK-47 gets the best guns and droid upgrades, which lets me to use him for many skills my Revan don´t use, like Computer Use or whatever.
I guess I like all NPC´s, but the 4 I mentioned usually fits into my parties the best, with the available gear in the game in mind.

I used to exclusively play as Scoundrel 7/Guardian 13 for the pure melee damage, but recently I have taken a liking to Soldier 5/Consular 15 for the huge array of Force Powers. And you get your feats early on in the game (if done correctky you could be level 5 before reaching the undercity) which makes combat a lot easier.
As for favorite NPC....I would have to choose Jolee and Carth. Pure caster and pure fighter. Both have good personalities and nice sidequests as diversions here and there.
My least favorite NPC would be Juhani hands down. I just can't stand listening to "I vill be you doom!" ever time I initiate combat! That, and she is as annoying as hell. I also hate Zalbaar, but that is because he is like Canderous, but much, much worse.

My personal favorite is Scoundrel/Consular on the Dark Side. I start the game, spend 5 hours at the end of the Endar Spire exploiting the game, and by the time i become a jedi i have 300+ force points and am a level 2 scout and level 18 consular that walks into a room and kills everything in no more than 5 seconds flat.
Because of this i prefer to go solo, as with my power i do not need the help of some puny jedi scum.
