Slow Motion Gameplay

Post by Dilidor »

Has anyone ever suffered with IWD or HoW chugging along in slow-motion? My computer is plenty powerful to run the game, so I can't understand why everything plods along at half-rate. When I cast an area spell, holy smokes it chugs down even worse!

Any insight on this problem?

Without knowing your system specs, its possibly that your graphics card might be too advanced for the game. I know my nVidia 8800 GT runs most Infinity Engine games poorly, so that may be your problem.

Hi, I found this to be a really big Pain in the Gulliver's when I played the first few times. It's whenever either the mage or druid cast area effect spells and there's basically too much info ploughing through the screen for the computer to figure it properly. I've just run through the game without a mage or druid and I have encountered virtually no slow motion action. When the bad-guys cast these spells it doesn't seem to happen so bad if at all.

One screen that still does this is the Gnomes in the Well scene where they are walking around loads of sparkling crystals. If any of the crystals are in view the play speed halves. I think it's because there are so many NPCs in this view.
