Problem with MAC version

Post by flashcash »

I am hoping someone can help me out with this. I just got a used copy of the game for my MAC OS system. I can get through the opening animation, but when I get to the character creation I can't modify/create any characters. I know someone else had this problem. Does anyone have any solutions.

Thx

Exact same problem

Hi there!

Yup! I am in the exact same boat. I got my game second hand and I can't create any characters either. I am also running on Mac OS X. I sent an email today to support@macplay.com to explain the problem but I have not heard anything from them yet. I'll let you know if I hear from them and if they have any solutions. I am also looking forward to playing the game even though I am quite new to this stuff.

Still no soloution

Hi there again,

Well, it seems that the email address is so old, I got my question sent right back to me a day later unanswered. The "MacPlay" website doesn't even have the game listed anymore. It has only these kiddy games now mostly. This is very frustrating. I know the game is old, but someone must have had the same problems we've been having in the past. It must be that no one is playing anymore and they are not interested in posting anything related to it.
I hope someone proves me wrong.

Woodnymph,

Misery loves company. The only thing I have found is one Mac patch, it hasn't helped, though I may have screwed up the install (my wife just convinced me to get a Mac, so it is not comfortable for me.) If I can find the link again I will forward it in case you can make better use of the patch.

Hi there again!

The patch worked! Many thanks to you, flashcash.
I can create characters and I guess the game will be afoot!
Make sure you freshly install the game first (get rid of any thing you installed before and start from scratch) and immediately install the patch afterward. Pop in the CD 2 and you should be able to have it work.

No Luck

Ok, maybe I am an idiot. I am downloading a file with a .sit suffix. It goes to my download window, I drag it into my IWD folder, no change. I have tried opening the file, but it is coming up as garbled text, with no directions on installing. What am I missing here?
