MotB problem (spoiler for newbies)

Having a problem with Devour Spirit. I can't get it to work. I can use Suppress, and Satiate (which I reluctantly had to use once), so I should have success with Devour. But I'm either doing something wrong or I have a bug. I suspect it's me doing something wrong. In the end my char just kept dying, so I quit that game and have started over. I don't yet have the Spirit Eater thing, but I would be glad of any advice. Thanks.

What were you trying to use it on? It only works on spirits (like the animal spirit that always spawns outside Mulsantir).

Only been trying it on spirits. I know how it's supposed to work...

I'm wondering if I've got the simple mechanics wrong. I click on Devour after I've targeted a spirit, but nothing happens.

Is the spirit hostile towards you? (I remember that you get more benefit for killing the spirit with devour, but I don't remember if you actually have to be attacking it for the feat to work.)

Oh yes! Shows up nice and red. I never attack anything that doesn't attack me first.

Ah well, looks like no-one has an answer, so I'll just have to see what happens with this new char...

Do you still have a Devour available for the day? You get 10 per day, but if you use Suppress, it cancels all other available Devours.

Yup. I know you have to have Devour available to use it, and that Suppress cancels out the Devour until after your next Rest period.

But thanks for the suggestion, cos I HAVE done dumb things in games and wondered what the hell was wrong, when it was my fault all the time! :laugh:

I'm still pretty sure it must be my fault, but I just can't figure out what it is I'm doing wrong!

I cannot figure out how it works. All I know is that I keep dying and this only started after I got the bear and went into the shadow theatre again. Only with the bear did I get a supress or devour and now I just die walking around doing nothing.

Suppress is also pretty useful IMHO. Just try to get to an area with alotta neutral spirits, i.e outside mulsantir. Then have ur companions cast some summon elemental spells. As far as i can remember that combination worked well enuff for me.
