I enjoyed GB's first newsletter, and it's probably going to keep me coming back to the site more often.

However, I was suprprised by the choices for Game of the Year 2008. It seems like just 3 games dominated every category, so either 2008 was a crappy year for RPGs (possibly) or not too many other considerations were given their due.

Age of Conan, anyone? I'm surprised that there isn't even a GB network for it. If there's a reason for that exclusion, please educate me because I've been gone too long.

Hi there :)

There is some discussion about the awards buried in the news thread here:
http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/gameb ... 05970.html
You can post about it in that thread.
But, while I can't speak for the choices made (I had nothing to do with them) it does look to be a slim crop to pick from as the author(s) also say in the news-thread.

As for why AoC doesn't have a network/forum here, then GB have never really been heavy on MMO game content outside the news forum.
That type of game (MMO) tend to have their networks on a couple of specific sites - either official or unofficial - and MMO communities doesn't spread out as much as "ordinary" games do. I could go into a long rambling about the why-for and why-nots but, usually it is pointless having many resources for MMO games, unless you dedicate yourself to the game, as there are some very dedicated ones out there for MMOs as well.

(Doesn't mean people here don't play MMOs though, just the content and discussions usually revolve more about RPGs and similar :) )

I suppose that makes sense - but there are some MMO sites in the network.

It seems like it should be all or nothing.. maybe that's just me. :)

Well, there exists normal RPGs which don't have a forum/section either ;)
It is impossible to have every game.
