Fallout 1 help

Hi i have fallout 1 that plays without a CD.

It works fine on version 1.0 but when i try to patch it to version 1.1, i get an error which states that the patch could not find the master datafile and to make sure the FALLOUT CD is in the drive and that i'm running fallout from the directory that i've installed it from.

The thing is that i never installed it. I just downloaded that folder with the game data and started playing.

I'm running windows Vista SP1

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Have you actually bought that game, or are we talking about pirated copy here? If it's pirated, then I don't see much luck getting help here because helping in piracy is against the rules here.
