Kensai Mage problem

I'm starting Baldur's gate again and I'm going to use this kensai mage which seems to be so popular but I am unclear about dualing char's since this will be my first one. My character is human but how do u dual? I have a lvl 9 kensai human but I can't seem to dual him - does the dual option come up later or something?

str 14, dex 14, con 17, int 18, wis 10, charisma 3

you could also CLUA the strength tome from BG1 and use it.

or restart...lvl 9 shouldn't take to long to earn...

and rerollin' till u get sweet stats isn't cheating is it?
