HAHAHAHAHA! Brave Sir Robin! I love Monty Python's Holy Grail! I'm wearing a Killer Rabbit shirt right now! Anyway, my best Oblivion moment, hmmmm, (spoiler alert) in the last TG quest(The Great Heist or whatever) the mentally handicapped guards started attacking each other in their own compound so I just left them and went for the Elder Scroll. Well when I sat in the chair the monk never came & after more than 3 hours of wondering what was wrong, I realized that even though I was never detected, there were still hostile guards in the area and I had to go finish them off myself and 'twas literally a loyal blast. Only after I wiped out all remaining 20+ guards did I realize I forgot to put on my characters clothes! If only they could nick name me; the Nudist Guards Bane!

It's A Freaking Reply, Okay?!

Greetings, Arok 2092! Wow! Somebody who got the pop culture reference to "Monty Python & The Holy Grail"! :D "Yay! And there was much rejoicing!" I forgot an important part though. The new twist is, that when you go back to Water's Edge, instead of seeing the father crying about the death of his daughter and the other village people, he's crying about the cruelty of his flock of sheep being killed! :p Poor sheep though! :(

My character Apple, goes about topless! ;) But anyway, if you care to rename your character, switch to third person view, open the Console, and click on your character, then enter the command code, "SetActorFullName" (without the quotes though) followed by a space, then enter the new name, but in quotes though!

Now, to get to the subject of what is my favorite moment thus far? Hmm, that's a tough one, as there are so many moments to choose from. Mods aside, I'd say it was when I saw how rich the details where, when I finally got a computer that could play the game properly. :) With mods though, it would be the first time my character took a ride with Pegasus! :D Flying over the open countryside was a visual treat! Dodging fireball flak from Imps and Conjurors! Too bad landing was trickier then take off though. :p
Shhh! Be very quiet! I may be sleep writing and sleep reading!

My favorite gaming moment was a recent one (I've had many, but I only really remember the most recent ones). I've just created this new Argonian of "Summoner" class. Basically role-playing a defiant Daedric worshipper. He's not happy with any of the current Daedra (or Aedra) and is trying to find a power for whom he can use his talents.

Okan-Shei had just been traveling for a long time (going from Anvil to Skingrad) stopping in various caves and mines, and disposing of the weaklings that inhabitant them (the difficulty slider is about 60% up).

Feeling tired, and the only clothes that he has still which are wearable are some tattered grey robes. It had been ages since he had seen water and he was desperate for a little dip somewhere.

When hallelujah! he came upon a little pond, immediately throwing his equipment on the floor beside the pond and summoning a Dremora Caitiff to guard them, he jumped blissfully into the water. He sort of drifted on the water's edge for a few seconds before lightening struck and it started to rain. Diving into the water and just lying on the pond's bed, He stared up into the sky, seeing the rain causing ripples in the pond's surface.

For what seemed like minutes but were really hours, Okan-Shei stared at the movement of clouds, until slowly, the rain drops stopped falling and the clouds parted to reveal a sheet of night pin-pricked with holes of light. Quietly contemplating the bright moons, Okan-Shei realized it would be wise to move on.

SuperVillain wrote:Ive just found my new fav :)
First of all go to Bravil (fast travel Bravil is full name) and look to your left, there should be a inn. In between the inn and the next house there is a Drug Lord (what I called him anyway) who sells Skooma :D
Buy 4 vials of Skooma and drink all same time, swith 3rd person and watch how fast you move!!! Works best naked (not in them terms, I mean no armour etc) so you move well faster than a horse!!!

HINT: Save before you do this as it is useless and costs around 120 each Skooma and only lasts bout 6 seconds lol :P

Have fun :) (PS) This post has nothing to do with Nudity or Drug abuse so dont get any ideas, Skooma is a drug and should not be used except for medical reasons! Remember Drug Abuse kills!
Hello, SuperVillain! :)

The first time that I read your post here, I thought that you meant that you had found someone from the Skoom Den, as I'd never encounted this elf before. Well, I don't know how much time passed since I'd first read your words here, but soon enough Apple Candy Cane found him! She was looking for Dar Jee the Fence, but found him instead! She was running after an Argonian to see if it might be Dar Jee, when she saw the elf hiding in the alley between buildings. Curious, she went to meet and greet with him. Wow! It was your Skooma Dealer whose name begins with an "N", by the way.

She set his gold bartering up to "60,000" and invested 500 gold into his shop and then bought his Skooma to use with the addict in the Shivering Isles, and then she proceeded to unload lots and lots of loot to the guy, that she had been carrying around for hours or so.

Sure he isn't attired like Shady Sam, but so what? For now, I'd count this too as a favorite moment: The discovery of a previously unknown NPC! :D

It was like, "Where have you been all of these years?" So thanks for making me aware of his existance, SuperVillain!

On that note, what interactable creatures don't attack you on sight? Is it only the deer?
The black bat in the "Trentius Family Mausoleum", even though it seems to flutter at your face, and maybe startle you upon first entry from the light into the relative dark, doesn't attack you, no more than the butterflies and those flying orange sparkling lights and green sparkling lights in the Shivering Isles, whatever they are.

By the way, as an experiment to test the game's limits, I did try to capture or kill said bat, but to no avail. Also, I keep expecting some modder to make a "Buttergly Net" mod, to catch those butterflies, just because they exist. But I don't know what I'd do with them. I don't chase them in real life.

Spoiler Alert!

I've had so many brilliant moments that its hard to pick!
But the first one that springs to mind though is the theives guild quest 'turning a blind eye'...I had so much fun sneaking around past all the blind monks and being soo pleased and surprised that none of them detected me! :D
Even when I went to grab the stone, I must have bumped into the guard 10 times or so, yet still he didn't detect me! Veeerrry amusing

And another great moment was experiencing the shivering isles for the first time, when haskill's office begins to disintergrate, and you realise that it has turned into hundreds of butterflies! Then you see the amazing landscape disapearing off into the horizan...Magical :D
It is by fate's hand that I am slain, but only chance that it was I and not you.

Being Chased by Hordes

A favorite moment for me is when I get bored with what I've been doing in the game I will assign an invisibility spell to my hotkey list and start running down a road sucking up all the monsters and bandits in tow that I can get to follow me. When the monsters and bandits meet each other or they meet a patroling guard I stop running and go invisible to watch them fight. It's also fun to disintegrate bandits weapons before hand (a suit of chameleon clothing and Ring of Khaajit does nicely) so they have to duke it out bare fisted with monsters/guards/vampires. Or running up to and attacking a bandit archer so they switch to their knife, then paralyze just long enough to steal their bow. Then let them wear themselves out attacking you with the knife for almost no damage yet quickly building up block and armor points. In the sewers I like to get the bandits to chase me into the vampire areas or up into town and watch them fight. Or when I want to join the DB I go to Bravil, go out the northern gate and find the two Imperial Gamesmen who seem to invariably be shooting each other with arrows. After one dies and the second is badly injured I can finish the survivor off with an arrow shot and steal all their gear. Also figuring out who the Mythic Dawn sleepers are and assassinating them ahead of time.

About Those 2 Imperial Foresters!

Good Morning, Uncle Scatchy! :)

Oh! Oh! I've been meaning to tell someone something I've discovered about those two combating Imperial Foresters! I think that I've learned why they are fighting. One is the clone of the other!

I learned this by naming one, and saw that it gave the other one the same name too! So I pick one to live and one to die, be looted, and then either disabled or turned into an ewe!

I think there's something about having a double that leads to NPC's attacking each other. Just a theory based on many observations at this time though. ;)

Umbra.....

I started a Wood elf with the intent to do more Exploring with her, I accidentally Found Umbra with her, (I think Umbra is a Boss or Equivalent). well the Wood Elf Being only lvl 3 did not bode well against Umbra. I was so Impressed with Umbra's Fighting prowess and that REALLY COOL ARMOR SHE WEARS, that I decided to take my lvl 15 Argonian to pay her a Visit and exact a little Revenge for Killing my Wood Elf. It Was A glorious Battle My Argonian and Umbra were Very well Matched. The fight lasted about 10 minutes and My Argonian was Victorious. that Armor is WAY COOL, the COOLEST Looking Armor I have seen in this Game, and Umbra's Sword is so Sweet, Now My Argonian will Proudly Wear the Ebon Armor. And Thoroughly Enjoy the Sword to boot.

Hi, Raven! But uh, did you do it as the Quest, or just as a random encounter?
Just curious.

It's a daedric prince Quest. Clavicus Vile's quest to be exact. I found it to be one of the more amusing Daedric quest's (Nothing beats Sheogorath though!). Spoiler:
You talk to clavicus, and his Dog/demon thing (can't remember it's name) breaks away from the statue to acompany you (oh, he is in the form of a small clay dog doll you keep in your inventory, not a giant stone dog following you!). Clavicus wants you to return Umbra to him, but the dog says that Vile has encountered/possesed the sword before and it led to big problems, so he wants you to keep it, sell it, whatever, just don't return it. So either you kill umbra and take umbra back to clavicus whom awards you with a cool, personality boosting mask, or you keep one of the best swords in the game. pretty easy choice, right?
Hindsight is 20/20.

Be Forewarned! (SPOILER?!)

Darth Chef, he of the amusing avatar icon, is correct! I've experimented with the talking dog though. Dropping him, leaves a tiny dog statue on the ground. If you don't pick him up, you can't complete the quest properly!

I've also sold Barbas at the nearby inn in Pell's Gate. Now that shuts him up very well! :p Then I bought him back to finish the quest.

The "Mask of Clavicus Vile" is rather ugly for females to wear I think. So I place it on a Reznod Mannequin!

When doing the quest, you learn Umbra's real name. Plus, if you're not in the habit of being a sneak, you may, can, and should talk to her. She has interesting dialogue and if you do it right, you get the option to duel with her or leave in peace!

I always make friends with her so that she's sad about it all. I do the duel, win, loot her, enchant the armor, resurrect her, recruit her, give her back her armor, then send her off to a unit, with her now set essential. I give Umbra the Sword back to Clavicus Vile, get the Mask as a reward, talk to the cultists, then I go to the "Personal Museum" in the basement of the manor in Skingrad, put up the new display, and then reach into "Purse of Wonders", and retrieve the Umbra Sword from the Testing Hall, and put it in the display as well. Along with the "Savior's Hide" too eventually. ;)

But anyway, have fun with your elf when she grows up! :)

EDIT: P.S. I think that your Argonian can still turn the sword in for the reward. It should be a very quick quest though!
Shhh! Be very quiet! I may be sleep writing and sleep reading!

Post removed. Please remember, this is a thread about your best gaming moment in Obllivion--not just how well you like Oblivion. Carry on. ;)

Rubber-Band Conjurer

I was in an Alyeid Ruin one time with my Argonian, a Conjurer had just come up to a gate I was about to open, good thing I was in Sneak mode, I instinctively Fired off an Arrow, the Arrow passed right through the gate and killed the Conjurer, he fell right against the gate, his head was Stuck on one side and his Arm was stuck on the other side - I opened up the gate to Procede, heard a strange sound - like a Vibrating sound - and then turned around, what I saw next was the most hillarious thing I had ever seen in my entire life, there was that Conjurer Stretched beyond recognition between the two sides of the open Gate, he was Rubber-banding so fast his entire body lifted inches from the floor. Just for fun I closed the Gate and then reopened it, I probably did this about three times, it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen, I laughed for hours, and still laugh about it every-time I think about it.

I suspect he/she is referring to Falcar, personally my preference is to either zap him with a soul trapping spell or item, he fits nicely inside a black soul gem, and is definitely poetic justice.
