Durlag's Tower problem

Post by Janica »

I'm stuck on level 2 of Durlag's Tower - the place with all the locked doors. I went into the bedroom and killed the doppelganger, opening the passage to the statue room. However, I then slept and all the doors closed. Now I can't get *any* doors to open, effectively trapping me in the bedroom with three locked doors around me. What to do?

Don't you have any saved game before you went to sleep?

I do, but like an idiot I was relying on quick saving, and of course I quicksaved before sleeping. My other save is from about eight hours earlier, real time. I suppose I'll have to cop it and go back to that one.

You can try doing this but I don't know if it'll help...

If I remember correctly, you find some wardstone in the bedroom, which opens the door of another room.If you put it back on the location where you found it and take it once again, it may open the door.

you can cheat and teleport your party elsewhere
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.

How does one go about teleporting?

And thanks for the wardstone advice, but I already tried that. The stone that opens the relevant door worked once, but won't work again. The other wardstones open doors elsewhere on the level, but not in the room I'm in.

You must use cheat codes to teleport.First, read in this topic how to activate cheat codes, because it requires that you change some files.

CHEAT CODES

Now, put your mouse cursor where you want to be teleported and press CTRL + J, you can teleport whole party at once, just select them all.

Interesting, thanks for that.

I didn't solve my problem in the end, I just went back to an earlier save. Interesting though that there doesn't seem to be a way out of Durlag's bedroom if you let the doors re-set. A devious trap for the unwary.

there should also be an autosave made when u go from lvl 1 to 2 just delete an old save and u should get the autosave back and u can start lvl 2 from the top and since u only got to the bedroom there isn't much u have to redo.
