1. Is the mage better then atronach with the regenerating mana?
2. when I read the manual about the attributes for intelligence it says "governs the skills for alchemy, conjuration, and mysticism" does this mean it makes these skills more powerful and level them up faster when you add more to intelligence?
3. Which is easier to use and play caster, range, or melee?

1.Yes, because The Atronach Birthsign can't regenerate Magicka completely
2.If you raise the governed, the one governing them will receive bonus points
3.On earlier level: Melee, when you're rich: Caster, richer: Archer. Caster use Magicka to cast powerful spells while Archer empties your wallet to purchase powerful arrows

There is nothing you can't do, at least if you have enough patience to keep trying.

You might also look to download and install mods, to enhance gameplay. There are several mods, for example, that make it possible to play a pure spellcaster. (Very difficult in the vanilla game, unless you have endless patience.)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
The first time I played a pure spellcaster I used the atronach sign and it worked out pretty well. Although to be honest, I had just taken a vacation from Oblivion to play Morrowind for the first time, so I not having my magicka regenerate wasn't as big of a shock as it probably would have been before I played Morrowind. Anyway, I found the higher limit on total magicka to be well worth the inconvenience of having to get blasted to recharge. It was surprisingly rare that I would run into long stretches with no enemy spellcasters, and for those times I always carried some restore magicka potions.wickerman wrote:What if I use an anti-paladin character which is melee and caster, will the atronach be better to use then the mage? And using conjuration to make summons to attack me to gain mana while improving my spell absorption close to 100%.
Can the answer to this question be "No"?
For ease of use Mage, for raw power Atronach. I'd definitely give the edge to Atronach, just make sure Alchemy is not a major skill, boost it like crazy (which will boost your intelligence, which increases your mana) and make lots of Restore Magicka potions and tie those potions to a quick key. Warning, that is a bit cheesy and makes the game far too easy in my opinion. Did it once to try it out, have used Mage ever since.

I'd have to say touch spells are easier, if you're playing a battlemage type with decent armor and shield. It's practically impossible to miss, and you don't get stunned if your enemy blocks with his or her shield at the last second. Plus touch spells cost a lot less magicka to cast than ranged spells (especially compared to area-effect spells, which are almost mandatory for dealing death from a safe distance, because unless you have fantastic aim you'll find that the bad guys have a frustrating ability to dodge incoming spells at the last second).wickerman wrote:3.
