Thanks in advance for what i know is just something stupid. i have compleated the game, and downloads numerous times but never on super hard any tips/ anything on getting past the hellhound in act 1??

The Witch Abigail sells the Spectre Oil (I think that's it) and, if you ask her about it, will also sell you the Recipe for it (which puts it in your Journal, and allows you to make it, if you have Oil Preperation).

Then use Blizzard, and that Oil, and attack the Beast Directly.

Improve your Ard sign.

The Beast can be stunned with it and then you can insta-kill it with your silver sword.
Sage plays a paladin,
because other classes would be frowned upon for laying their hands on a wounded companion

And Aard will be a surefire quick kill if you perform the ritual of magic at a place of power before you enter the caves.
