Onderon: side with Talia but remove 3 captains? (spoiler)

Post by poit »

i was wondering if it was possible to side with talia but still remove the 3 captains. I have already said that i willl support talia during the political debate between the 2 aliens and also during the crowd gathering. however, even so, if i remove the 3 captains, i do not get the option to side with talia, when i meet tobin. anybody knows ? thanks!

This Mabye a Glitch. But anyway, why Talia? I really do not see anything special. Unless you're a Goody-Two Shoes. Tobin is better, even though I said I would join up with Talia. I started to think that maybye I should just kill Talia, to wind up the people in Ondron.

You should still be able to remove the three Captains and still side with Talia when Tobin encounters you later on. I've done it before...

Siding against Talia means that you end up having to kill the Jedi Master on Onderon, so if you're playing lightside, you should side with her.

Though, really, its a lame moral choice. Vaklu isn't necessarily a bad guy, its just too bad you can't save the Jedi Master AND side with Vaklu.

The only Reason i'd side with Talia is because what happens. When you go to land on Onderon, Vaklu tries too blast you out the sky. You end up having to Emergency Land on Dxun. That really cheesed me off, Dxun was one of the most lamest parts of the Game.

Hope My Info Helped.

yeah you're right nightmare, the trick is just to persuade the 3 captains to leave their posts and not kill them. also, i saved the journalist accused of spying, not sure if this was necessary...

Heh, yes me too. I never understood the whole, "Vaklu is slightly evil, so because I'm Dark Side I will naturally join up with him" idea. He tried to kill me! If I'm playing DS, that's just going to annoy me. In terms of the game, it seems that supporting either side essentially stabilises the planet, doesn't it?

Spoiler
Talia wants to stay with the Republic, which later ensures Onderon's prosperity but they eventually lose their culture and identity. If you side with Vaklu, he leaves the Republic and Onderon keeps its culture. It might be that Vaklu is later overthrown though...can't really remember.
Bottom line though, in my opinion, supporting Vaklu isn't necessarily dark side, since he's not really evil. He's willing to do whatever it takes to save Onderon, and he's really thinking about his planet, not just himself. The methods are all that differ, really, but Vaklu isn't convincingly a dark side choice to me.

The game says differently however, so that's the way it is.

If I remember correctly, somebody Raids Onderon. I maybe wrong.
But yes. Vaklu, wasn't the sort of person i'd side with. He Blasted you out the Sky! Wasted about and hour's gameplay getting to Onderon, Off Dxun. And I had Serious Problems with the Dxun Temple. I made a thread, asking for help. It was Really Bad.
