Fighter Monk feat
Is there one? I'm looking for a Fighter Monk feat that allows you to combine the two for Unarmed Damage, AC bonus, and feats. There's one for Ninjas and Fighters, Rogues and Monks, etc, etc, but where's the Monk Fighter combo? Is this a feat I'll have to get the DM to create? As well, does anyone know of the variants in the Dragon Magazines like Rage Monk, Hunting Monk, Martial Monk, etc that let you cross class without penalties? I know that the Rage Monk and Barbarian stack for number of rages per day, and the Hunting Monk and Ranger favored enemies stack, and a Martial Monk can choose Fighter feats, but do they gain bonuses to AC, and Unarmed Damage when they stack as well?

There is no feat that allows you to combine all of those together.
Ascetic Rogue, which is what I'm assuming you're referring to, allows unarmed damage to stack and nothing else. The purpose of those feats is to combine a minor benefit to both classes, not a benefit to monks, therefore since fighters don't have any special abilities, there was no reason to create a feat like that.
There is a feat however, that allows you to take both Fighter and Monk levels together, provided your fighter levels are Equal to or lesser than your number of monk levels. It's in Eberron. However, this feat is only for getting rid of the anti-multiclassing deal with Monks, nothing more.

There are two that allows multiclassing between Paladin & Monk. That's from the Eberron Campaign Setting.
In another Eberron book, Secrets of Sarlona, there's a feat that allows multiclassing between Psychic Warrior(or any other Psychic class, but the warrior is the most useful one for this) and Monk, and lets AC, speed, Flurry and Unarmed Damage stack. I definitly recommend this one, especially since, IIRC, you have a DM that likes to screw players. The PsyWar is a lot more versatile and useful than a Fighter, and this feats makes the Monk viable instead of liable.

Ascetic Psion? That seems like a pretty cool feat to take. It is a shame, however, that that Psy Warrior has a medium attack progression. I guess it's better than the regular Fighter as it's still got 2/3 the number of feats, but the BAB is lower. The reason I was going with the monk/fighter was because of the variant martial monk which allows you to take fighter feats as bonus feats instead of what it gets access to.GawainBS wrote:There are two that allows multiclassing between Paladin & Monk. The feat is called something else than "Ascetic Psion", but it works much the same way. It counts your Psionic class as monk levels for the purpose of AC, Unarmed Damage, Flurry of Blows and Speed. Trust me on this, a Psychic Warrior outfights a Fighter anyday, despite the lower BAB. Its psychic powers far outstrip the Fighter's BAB and slightly higher HP. The Martial Monk doesn't sound that tempting to be honest. There are only so many useful Fighter feats. Besides, the Fighter is much more gear dependent than the Psychic Warrior and we know how much your DM likes gear.kevin video wrote:Ascetic Psion? That seems like a pretty cool feat to take. Or giving us the money to actually afford gear. Alright. I'll just have to figure something else out then for what feats I'll be taking as the Monk. Combat Reflexes I'll still do at lvl 2, but I didn't want to take Stunning Fist at lvl 1. Remember, I'm trying to make Captain America.GawainBS wrote:and we know how much your DM likes gear.

Why wouldnt Cap take stunning fist? he understands the need to capture rather then kill at times.kevin video wrote:Or giving us the money to actually afford gear. Alright. This wont be anything near the topic of this post but there is a build for a shield tossing Captain America.
Captain America (DnD Optimized Character Build - D&D Wiki)
And I think the shield is Cap's signature.

It's a pathetic build. It sunders. Jay, you just destroyed your own loot and thus you hampered your ability to get better gear. More over, you're a warrior and extremely gear dependant. Just notched yourself.
It can only attack once a round, since returning weapons return before the start of your next turn and you have to stand in the same place. Once a round a 2d6 + 6 orso damage at level 11? Not so good, to be mild.
To top it off: 48 point buy? I'm all for 32 point buy, but 48 is quite something. Either way, it's definitly a houserule.
Something more effective, on top of my head: Warblade/BloodstormBlade/MasterThrower and Power Throw and Palmthrow (Palmthrow might be tough to get to work with a Heavy Shield, but doable with a Light Shield). Pretty decent damage (Around 2d6 (or 1d8) + 15 per throw, 4 throws (8 maybe) a round, at lvl 11), better defenses and saves (due to certain Counters from Warblade), better mobility (due to Boosts) and more skills.
