Tutu & Vista

Post by GawainBS »

Now that my umptheent PS:T playthrough is drawing to a close, I'm going to go through BG again. Are there any known issues in combining Vista & Tutu?
Just a quick summary to be sure: BG1 + TotSC + patch, then SoA + ToB + patch, then Tutu, then required BG2 mods?

Thanks in advance!

I had a couple of game-stopping bugs occur during the BG2 game I just finished. I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit. I'm not sure if Vista is the cause, but what I do know is that I never encountered any game-stoppers in either Win 2000 or XP. The first bug happened in the Spellhold dungeon. The first room that you enter after exiting the second level has a bunch of goblin archers and kobold archers shooting at you- this is the first room of the "sanity test" conducted by the mage apparition. As it turned out, killing a specific goblin would crash the game. It took me about 7 reloads to figure out that to avoid the crash I had to turn this goblin into stone. All other methods of killing it that I tried would reliably crash the game. The second bug occured shortly afterward with Saemon Havarian. I chose to go with him to escape Brynnlaw, and when the Githyanki boarded the ship he wouldn't do his dialogue. The result was that I had to fight the Githyanki while Saemon just stood around, only to find out that it isn't possible to kill the Githyanki captain! You have to initiate dialogue with Saemon *immediately* after the narration cutscene to avoid this mess. If you wait for the Githyanki to board the ship, you've reached the point of no return.
