Quickest way to kill them?

Hehe, attacking them is definitely a good start. Also, that is, If I remember correctly, they hit hard and have the privilege of many HPs, so be sure to equip your engaging PC/NPC with a Golden Girdle to provide some protection, however meager, against the SW's greatsword, and do hit them with a blunt weapon if possible.

My method isn't exactly fast but is safe. Using a character wearing boots of speed, play "ring around the roses" using a table or suchlike. Then take them out with a bow, keeping well clear of them. This isn't exactly an answer to the question, but it works. I often take the skellies out one at a time using fog of war to the max. (To ensure that you're not trapped by the weaker ones whilst you get hammered by a warrior)
