getting the lastes pataches

I have tried to get the lastes patch foe witcher
but whenI goto thier web page I click on the patch update icon
that takes me to a page that is some forigon lagwage
so how do I get the latest patch?

Well, you can try [url="http://www.patches-scrolls.de/"]the Patches Scrolls[/url]. Found quite a lot of patches for the games I have from there.

And if I remember correctly, after installing the latest patch (EE upgrade), you have to install the language pack as well.

Are you talking about getting the patch that will get you patched up the Enhanced Edition?

Note: This is in order to upgrade to the Enhanced Edition. I don't know about other patches...

However, if you bought the Enhanced Edition, I'm relatively certain you do not need to patch your game.

Side note: Also available are the files to remove the Censoring that was done for the North American (read U.S.) sales. Both Nudity and blood.

TO get them you MUST have the EE (Patch or purchase), however.

Can you tell me what files those are please? my original version was the UK but when i downloaded the enhanced version update if was just the American version as I could not find the UK version.

Actually, I have been disappointed in how difficult and convoluted this patching issue has been. I agree with DW that the Enhanced Edition probably does not need to be patched. I am playing it now without problems. CD Projekt has not done a great job with the logistical end of things - their website provides no easily accessible information on the need for patching EE, the EE game indicates it needs patching when it doesn't, and the moderators of its forums are often mechanical, defensive, and petulant.

Here is my understanding of what is happening in terms of censorship. There are three editions of the game: European (uncensored), UK (somewhat censored), and US (fully, puritanically censored). The censoring is in two parts: sexual and blood/gore. The official website offers a blood/gore patch for the US version that does not affect the rest of the game. The sexual part is less clear. They do offer an uncensored patch that reverts the game to its
Polish roots (with subtitles?) with some small inconsistencies. If Polish doesn't bother you, this may be the way to go.

To get a US version in English that is fully uncensored, the only reliable source I could find was here. Note that there are two methods to do this - I actually did both. Understand that downloading these video files will take some time as they are almost 200 MB in size.

Now, here is the rub. To check if the patch worked, I saved the game prior to speaking with Triss in the Prologue. Nothing worked - still "censored." I did some more digging and found that some scenes, like this one, are apparently "tastefully rendered" in all versions - that is they are "censored" even in the original, uncensored version. So you will not know until later in the game if the patch is working. I can tell you that the blood/gore portion is working, so I am optimistic about the rest.

Regardless, the EE appears to be light years beyond the previous version in terms of dialogue and player experience, so I am just happy that I have the EE version to enjoy.

that site looks pretty complicated to make the game fully uncensored. I think I will just download the violence patch than. It is a bummer that I won't get the uncensored version as I did pay for it. ( bought UK version of original witcher) and then the updates for EE made it the american version.

I got the Fully Uncensored version (Nudity and Blood/gore) from the Link I gave...
