Where is the Reverend - spoilerish

Post by thantor3 »

Each time I go to the Chapel or the Reverend's house, he is not there. Doesn't matter what time of the day. I hit ALT and I can see his name floating in the air during the day in front of the chapel, but he himself is not visible. One post suggested I turn of Cap Lock, which I did, but doesn't help. Is this a bug?

Thanks!

I figured out the problem. Apparently, if you modify the game at all, either through an Override folder or by adding folders like "_texture" etc, you run the risk of not seeing the Reverend. This occurred because I wanted an uncensored gaming experience.

The resolution is to save these folders to another directory outside of any game directories, and then bring them back in to their appropriate places once you have finished with the quests that involve the Reverend. I did change some files in the Data directory, which allows for the uncensored cards in the game, but these particular modification did not cause problems.

I find it amusingly ironic that the Reverend will not tolerate such impropriety, even within the mechanics of the game. :)

LMAO! When I read that last night I almost decorated my keyboard with wine :D

I had been wondering why you weren't able to find The Reverend, and given my comp problems I couldn't test it out either. So, glad you figured it out, lol!

Yes, he is quite a crotchety old sod - he also refused to give me candles. When I am done with him, I am going to get him drunk and send him to the Hairy Bear. :D
