The boxes in right hand side of the store, right when you enter? Nowhere, you must pick those locks.

About the computer terminals, do you mean how to hack them or how to activate them? You activate them similiar way as any other item (door etc.). Hacking, well, you did follow the tutorial and read all the info down there? Also, manual should contain all the info about hacking computer.

About being killed, what difficult level are you using? And do you use V.A.T.S. or just real time gunning? And what about your stats, CON, Small Guns -skill etc...?

You can look here for an annotated map of the Super-Duper Mart. You can look here for some tips about hacking terminals.

Early in the game you might be better off using a baseball bat instead of a gun. Then switch to guns after you've built up your small guns skill, and after you've accumulated some ammo.

For all terminals it is a good idea to save right before you start so if you screw it up you can still reload the game.

For Terminals that you need to hack, just simply try 3 times. If the first, second, or third try succeeds, great! If they all fail, log out of the computer and try again. All four tries are restored.

Lockpick and Hacking skills are quite needed in the game. While all critical locks and terminals pretty much have keys and passwords lying around (or workarounds to them), many would require these skills or they're simply inaccessible.

Guns and accuracy. Raise you skills on the weapon type and they should work better and better. Level 3 is very low, basically beginner level right out of the vault, so straying too far into the Wasteland is not advisable. Dangers lurk where you have not the required experience to deal with yet, so choose your battles, take on the easier opponents and run from the tougher challenges. It's not cowardice, it's common sense.

If you're getting a little battered, find a place to sleep. Anywhere relatively safe with a bed or mattress and 1 hour will restore all HP and chance to live through another fight.
