is this place dead or something?

Post by DEATHSEEKER »

this board doesn't seem even the slightest of active anymore.
no one posts, no one comes by and checks whats going on, no body comes in to say hello anymore. I'm starting to feel like a lurker here for I feel like the only one who comes here now...

Actually, this forum is quite active having posts from today, yesterday, the day before, and a bunch more from the beginning of March.

I try to stop in daily. It is the least active of the forums I go to, so it usually just takes a minute to check it. I'm not an "active" gamer, and DL is one of many games that I play (when I do play), so I don't have much to discuss. I just try to help when I can.

I thought I would ask, The forum just doesn't seem so lively anymore.

I even figured out how to put up my own screen shots and I have for the one kel had made, and one other dealing with character stats.

maybe if anybody wants to go check them out go ahead.
That is why I put them up there. :)

Well, considering that they really don't sell this game anymore, yeah I'd have to say this place is a grave yard.

Still, I'm sure there are always going to be some people who come here.

Well that's good to know Deathseeker. We are just new to this game and we are all excited to get to the end. We play on Lan and have just arrived into the first city. It took a while just to figure out how to get the special into the quick slots.... Other stuff too. We are 5 playing together. It's a lot slower progressing this way but it's what we always do.

The game is still alive....

Deathseeker,

I re-registered, after a long time of being a lurker and forgetting I ever registered. There is so much info on here, I never saw a need to post anything, the questions have been answered.

However it is still an excellent game to play, and enjoyable, therefore people still play, and come on here to see what else they can do they are missing out on.

Like right now, after going without DL for a while, I am playing the lizard, as a mage and trying to remember the steps I need to take to make him a battlemage..... I know there is an excellent "robotic" method to playing him, I am going to find just the simple basic info, and otherwise enjoy myself, and still keep referring to this website for further info, and so on.

Im curious though how to play in Gamespy, multiplayer, never done that.

Multiplayer within the game.

you will have gotten a code in your game package somewhat like.
GX5G-H7F2-42G3-90cd

Made that one up just for an example.
to get online you need a code kind of like that.
without it you can't get online into the lobby.

I'm sure someone here can explain how the process of getting online a lot better than me.

I do better learning to use gaming systems than explaining them bud. I have never been good on explanations and imagery.

By the way, You can jump into the threads, like put your screenshots here for fun or what ever it was by kel. I had put some of my own screen shots here recently but it seems no one does that kind of stuff anymore.

Playing Lizard Mage

Im cruising around in the Slums now gaining experience and healing potions, seeking out the Vampiress. Kind of sucks, because my character is level 7 and little armor.

I keep putting my exp points into strength and Intelligence, along with 7 into arcane(required for Sorc), 5 into light weapons/magical weapons. I have a staff with fire strike, and having a good time with it until I get to Arindale and get Fighter class. Basically planning on relying on melee(staff) and as many spells as I can from drops.

Havent focused a whole lot on long term plans for this guy, because the furthest Ive gotten in this game ever is Arindale, and didn't complete a whole lot there. Also took an Urgoth character past Skuldoon (learned how to backflip over the wall pre-maturely). I have too much fun just killing critters, to be bothered with in-game responsibilities.

I will check out the multiplayer option when I get bored enough. I enjoy the basic beginning levels so much. Had a hard time though defeating the first Troll, with this Lizard Mage - Im getting spoiled having an Urgoth character that can take on a Troll one hand tied behind the back, dont know what level he is. Probably a good candidate for multiplayer.

How do I do screenshots? I will post one when I learn.

Thank you for your contributions Deathseeker, glad I decided to start posting. This game still rocks!

gonna try it again

Had this game a long time back, found it a strange game. No mini map, got to town and I was the only one in the place. It seemed so un finished I just un installed and chucked the game down in the basement. Then I got a package of old games cheap, the collectors edition was in the box. Now I am tempted to try again...........Hope its improved since the first go I had. :D

Many don't play online much anymore.

But I still feel like a lurker going into the lobby and sitting there eight hours in some days of random times in hopes someone will show even if it isn't C 1.5.

However... I am glad to know there are still people who actually play the game.
This gives me hopes that maybe in the future someone might come online more often to have fun such and such and so on and so forth.

and uhhhh for screen shots. I suggest going to photobucket.com and maybe making an account from there. ummm and you need to figure out how to take screenshots and if you don't have a program to take any screenshots, perhaps you should look for one. I personally use Fraps. Nice little program all and all.

I don't remember where I got it but maybe I can do some research, other wise some of the peeps on the forums here can give some ideas or sites to go to for such and such. I use fraps as it is easy to use for screenshots unfortunetly for myself it only recrods 30 second movies. I can't find any movie maker programs so and so forth so that means I can't make any dungeon lords movies i had wished I could do. No I know seems to know where to go for a movie maker all and all and they have movie makers of there own.

I'm quit discouraged right now about this and I'm starting to feel like I'll never be able to give a wack at the movie making process and host them on youtube for everyone to see... I even wanted to make a guide for getting online in the game through gamespy for a friend of mine. she has been wanting to get on but I just can't get any movies up for her....

If anyone knows of movie making programs or such or something that can make 10 minute movies at least. it would be of great help to me.

me too

i also use fraps and i like to use it to monitor my fps as well. i just like to know what my system is doing at all times and when using a 17" tube screen having stuff that overlaps works better than splitting 1 screen into 2. i also would like to know of a movie maker as i could never get fraps to work (for movies). i would love to make a movie of me killing a fire drake in 2.5 casts of blast nova! or what its like to take out shaduroth or any other "godly" monster in just a few whacks of my magic. or i could buff myself and whack the crap out of them with a sword or mace (imo pole's and staves are too slow).

Poles and staves being slow? maybe...

it's because your using a light level pole skill and your using a heavy pole weapon. I'v found out the hard way about that. I am really considering on doing another character now and maybe going ninja for a change. I think it would be fun to play around with a blend in with the environment.
(You can if you know how  ) Anyways, If anyone here knows of any movie programs that is at least 10 minutes long it would be of great use to me and others, If you can help. many thanks, If not well still many thanks.

Well I searched just about all online sources...

But I still am not having any luck, I was hoping at least someone would know of a movie program. Without it I can't make any movies to post on youtube.
Neither can I help anyone with a guide even if I wanted to. I have had no luck and I have come to the end of the line walking on the thin string. At this point I can't keep looking for something that doesn't appear to exist. No one knows of any or even knows of it. that has lead me to believe the move programs such as the one I search for does not exist. I'm calling it quits and I'm giving up on searching. I'm tired of looking for a movie program. I have been searching for a year now and still nothing is known. I'm sorry but I give up. This is just complete rediculous. :( :( :(
