I just completed Dungeon Lords

Post by DungeonDude »

I just completed Dungeon Lords CE 1.5. :D It took me about 4 months of off and on game play to complete. I had owned this game about 3 years and finally got around to finishing a game up after playing single and multi player games in the past but never finishing them. I will have to say this game was hard at the start until I could get my character attributes and levels up. The most challenging area for me was the Shawdow Ruins area. (actually had to use my one and only cheat in the game on 1 of the tasks there) I will say this game was definately worth the money I spent on it. I would have liked to see more NPC help though and more people in the streets of Fargrove would have added a nice toucht...but all in all the combat was extremly fun and I can't wait to try out DL II (orb and the oracle) when it's available. (hopefully the intial release will be bug-free this time around) :)

Right on dude! Congratulations budaroo! Plan on still playing the game?
I find the biggest challenge is to reach those insane levels such as level 2000.

Yes, it is insane level 2000 but no where to go? So that actually not worth it and you could editor it to 2000 anyway.
I just wish they have infinite areas to go and level 1,995 Boss to fight would be insanely!

I haven't played since I completed it. I am trying to catch up on some games I've had for a long time then I probably will come back just to fight all the Fire Drakes and just be a total bad a#$.

Too bad there is no mods for DL. Does the game allow for any imported (modded) monsters or anything?

If you search through the forum you'll find a few posts by people who modified some of the armor in the game, but those are the only mods I've seen.

What area did you have to cheat.

In the Water Jumping Puzzle Room, I had to use the dlcharedit program to move from 1 side of the room to the other. It was 1 of 2 character locations the editor would let a character move to, so someone else I'm sure has had trouble with it before. The whole Shawdow Ruins was kind of hard but after a couple hours of trying to make the water jump, I used the editor. Good thing..or I would have been stuck without a way to finish the Shawdow Ruins area.

just easier

i have taken a few characters through the game a few times, my lvl 155 zaur paladin/wizard for one, and find that the more you go through it the more fun you have because you know where not to go and what to look for and most importantly you get to avoid all the glitches you "found" the previous time(s). i must say after using a bow on the fire drakes the first time and then using cataclysm after that going from 1hour per drake to however fast you can cast 2 high powered cataclysms  makes the game go by a lot faster with fewer headaches, all in all more fun!
