Anvil of Dawn installation

Post by Gilliatt »

Have any of you played Anvil of Dawn on a recent machine?

I am trying to install it on Windows XP SP3 and have problems. I tried with the compatibility mode in Windows 95, but it doesn't work.

If I put the CD in drive E (DVD player) and try to install, it tells me that it cannot read drive F (CD player).

If I put the CD in drive F, it tells me that it cannot read drive E.

Since I have two copies of the game, I though I could play smarter by putting one CD in E and the other one in F. But guess what? It tells me it cannot read drive G.

I tried with DosBox, but it's not able to locate the CD even if its in the player.

I even tried creating a new folder on my hard disk and copied all the files manually, but still failed to launch the game.

Any advices?

Thanks in advance. :)

Problem resolved. I looked at the instructions to install Daggerfall on the Elder Scrolls forums and followed the same path for Anvil of Dawn. It worked! :)
