You are right, maybe I can add the missing goon. As for the histories I don't think there is a list around. Just look into vdata/system/histories000.txt.

Do you still get payed for telling arthur that muddy is dead?

Here's a list of the histories, how would you feel about letting a PC have multiple histories?

Yes, did this not work or why do you ask?

I wouldn't know how to do this. Also this list shows the original unfinished histories, but the unofficial patch histories haven't been changed much, just swapped around mostly.

Yeah, I didn't get the option to tell him Muddy was dead after the lucky star hotel. I might have waited till after I killed the slasher but that shouldn't matter right?

Is there a limit to the number of histories that can be on a list?

I think every PC should have access to all the histories that aren't obviously clan specific. With respect to gender as well.

For example a Male Gangrel should be able to chose from: all his clan specific histories, and all the male histories, and the rest that aren't clan or gender specific.

I think you need to tell it to him before you actually find out he has been killed. I think after that Arthurs answer does not fit anymore, because he wants to send someone else after him.

I would guess after a certain number they would leave the screen. Also a lot of stats swapping histories don't make sense with clans with the same priority already and it took a long time to balance them like they are, so I won't touch them again.

I just wanted to say that you are doing great work Wesp5! Your unofficial patches have completed this game. I hope you'll continue working on it till perfection. :D I was just wondering is there a walkthrough for your unofficial plus patches, or someplace where I can see all the changes it made from the vanilla game and the content it added?

So instead of telling Arthur Muddy is dead you tell him hes at the lucky star?

Was the name of the "Asian Vampire" changed to Cathayan? If so I think it should be changed back to "Asian Vampire" or "Asian Vampire Dude" haha. Your PC never learns the word Cathayan or that it is the (slightly ill-mannered) Camarilla name for the Kuei-jin.

Thanks! There will surely be some more versions until every bug has been fixed and every lost content restored. I already got some hidden poster for 6.1 and maybe we can finally fix the grenade!

The changes can be found in the readme and I once talked with Buck Satan to improve the great walkthrough here with infos of what changed with the patch but sadly that never happened.

You tell him he left Santa Monica.

No, it was that right from the start, but I added the name to the loading tips about the Kuei-jin, so the player has a chance to know what it means.

Well keep up the great work! Maybe when you finalize your patches you should try to get walkthrough here on Gamebanshee updated... :) A lot of things changed during the different versions of the patch so perhaps it was pointless to update the walkthrough? :D Have you tried contacting some of the original developers? Maybe they have some content they are willing to share? :D

I think maybe we are talking about different points in the Mudd hunt quest it sounds a lot like your talking about the PC telling Arthur that Muddy has fled downtown, this is after listening to the voice recording in the Santa Monica apts. For telling him this he pays you like 150 bucks I think.

I'm talking later in chapter 3 of the game once you actually find Muddy (the man you see killed in the lucky star hotel) you can tell Arthur that muddy is dead for a reward.

I can't find the dialogue where you can do this. Are you sure?

You know I'm really not, but I'll replay the official version to that point and check. I do know that after you tell Arthur about going downtown that at the end of the quest up date it talks about a reward for actually finding him or something.

2 small things related to the patch, one possible bug and one question:

The Bug:
Spoiler
After finding Milligan at the Skyline Apartments, I was not able to send him down to Pisha; the dialog option never popped up; I was given only two options: Telling him that his team is dead (and then either doing him in myself or allowing him to escape) or send him running.
I sent Patty down to Pisha before, in case this has any impact.
The Question:
What happened to the "Blunt Fangs"-History? Seems to have disappeared; I'm not sure whether a few others left with it. Was it deemed overpowered, was it removed by accident, or is it still there and I'm just blind as a bat? ;)

Other than that, the patch plays out great so far. Keep up the excellent work! :)

The question remains, though - Does insight remove sanity, or will insight be given to the mad?"

You need to have a Persuasion of at least 3 to do this.
What happened to the "Blunt Fangs"-History?
With the patch it is only available to Nosferatu.

Ah, I see. Makes sense - oh, well, I'm always glad to have an excuse for letting a spectral wolf bite someone's head off. ;) By the way, I love that you gave the attacked-by-glowing-wolf-animations to beings it doesn't "one-shot" instead of them just suffering damage - it was always disappointing to see spectral wolf turn into a suicide copy against supernatural targets.

Wesp5 wrote:With the patch it is only available to Nosferatu.
Hm, are you sure? Just rechecked and it's not showing up as an option for the Nossies, either. *hops off to file-digging*.
Edit: Nevermind; forgot that male and female characters get different history sets. Sorry to raise a fuzz :)

All right, finished my first play-through in a loooong time, and the very first time as a Gangrel (almost embarrassing, considering how many times I beat it as a Malk). A few annotations (Warning - Spoilers ahead), please disregard them, should they be unwanted or already fixed. :)

- Would it be possible to auto-draw 1the fists as a weapon as soon as Protean(5) is activated? Since it's not possible to switch/activate weapons anymore once transformed, it draws the weapon last used if none was readied before activating the Discipline... and it can get quite annoying to be low on blood and stuck with a sniper rifle as only possible weapon while transformed ;) .
Also had it happen once that I couldn't draw a weapon anymore after the Discipline timer had run out, was also fixed by pressing left mouse button (ruined a stealth kill, though, since that wasn't available anymore, either); I guess that was a random glitch, though.

- Is it me, or do the NPCs now hear a Crossbow shot as loudly as a regular shot? Tried to use it at the Society of Leopold to snap the one twig that's holding the giant rock (outside, right side of the monastery building) - couldn't do it without all of the hostiles on the map zeroing in on me, even if I missed. Is this intended, a small oversight on your part, or a problem with my copy of the patch/game?

- Something similar happened at the Giovanni mansion: Since I couldn't talk my way in, I went to the side entrance, silently dispatched both guards (Animalism is great....) and entered there. I easily remained unnoticed, until trying to lockpick the door straight across the hall from where I was entering - as soon as I begann picking it, two guards ran up behind me and the whole building suddenly knew I was there. Again, intended, problem with the patch, or problem with my copy? :)

- Also, a question concerning the final visit to the Venture tower. On the level with all the "baby" Ventrues, I noticed that - even with lights turned off - they always almost instantly noticed my presence, even if I was relatively well hidden. However, since I didn't sneak quite as much as I usually do, my sneak feat was only up to 6. So, did you make sneaking harder up there, disable it altogether (which would be a pity, really) or might there be something at fault?

- On a related note, the Discipline "Presence" doesn't seem to influence the player when used by NPCs - instead, it appears to influence all other NPCs in the area (even those hostile to the player and friendly to the caster). At least, it seems that way, since the glowing little circle is around everyone's feet but the player's, and I didn't notice any stats changes even when meleeing a Presence user. This could either be a problem with the patch, or a misunderstanding on my side; I do apologize, should the latter be the case. :)

- Aaaand, finally, a question concerning the Mummy Wrap Fetish. Now, Blood Heal achieves its effect by setting Regeneration Rate (or sth like that) to 8%. The Mummy Wrap Fetish sets the same variable (at least, I'm pretty sure it is, at least) to 150%... doesn't that actually slow the healing, then?

Wheh... lots of text, sorry. Again, just some things I noticed; otherwise, the patched version played a lot more enjoyable than the official 1.2-patch - the community can't thank you enough for all you've done to make this great game better. :)

Eldrich Prodigy

The Eldrich Prodigy history really does need to be changed again. The previous change has just rendered the history useless. You could pay for that 2nd dot/point of thaumaturgy many times over with exp points you would lose taking it on.
Even if you tried to play the numbers and walk away from character creation with 3 dots/points in thaumaturgy your still getting the short end of the stick.

I think it should be changed to this:

"You have a natural gift for the dark arts of thaumaturgy, and can use it to greater effect than most Tremere."

Bonus: +60% Thaumaturgy damage and duration

"Thaumaturgy is your all consuming passion, to the exclusion of nearly every other pursuit."

Penalty: All of your Skills,(Firearms,Melee,Security,Stealth) Talents,(Brawl, dodge,Intimidation,Subterfuge) and Knowledges(Computer,Finance,Investigation,Scholarship) are stunted

(4x3=12 /2 =6...60%) plus when you then get the Tremere Pin which is 140% it's an even 200
